9:00 AM WELCOME TO SAINT MARY’S! Soda Center, Moraga Room Join us for a warm welcome to our Saint Mary’s community from College leadership! Students depart with their Orientation Leaders.

9:45 AM TRANSITIONING INTO COLLEGE FAMILIES Soda Center, Moraga Room Starting college is a transition for families of college students. Topics include effective communication and family dynamics.

Understanding Special Academic Programs Soda Center, Moraga Room Become familiar with academic programs that require special planning: Integral, School of Science programs and the Teaching Certification program.

Core Curriculum Faculty and Staff Dining Room Delve into the Saint Mary’s core curriculum and general education requirements as well as what it takes to graduate.

First to College Delphine Lounge We’re here to provide insider information on the collegiate experience to families of first generation students.

Academic Support Resources De La Salle Hall, Hagerty Lounge Learn about the plethora of academic support resources from the Student Success Office, Student Disability Services, the Center for Writing Across the Curriculum, and the STEM Center.

Home Away From Home De La Salle Hall, Hagerty Lounge Everything you need to know about campus housing and residential living will be covered!

Safe Gaels Soda Center, Moraga Room Receive an introduction around issues of safety, campus regulations and student accountability from the Offices of Community Life, Public Safety and Sexual Assault Prevention.

12:45 - 1:45 PM REGIONAL LUNCH MEET AND GREET Soda Center, Claeys Lounge and Patio Time for a break! Enjoy lunch while seated with fellow Gael guests as well as faculty and staff from your home area!

1:15 - 1:45 PM LETS GET MOVING (Optional) Stretch your legs on a hike on a walk around campus!

2-2:50 PM SMCares II INTEREST SESSIONS Various locations Select one from any of the sessions below to learn about how Saint Mary’s ensures students succeed outside of the classroom:

3-3:50 PM SMC Engage INTEREST SESSIONS Various locations Learn about student support services that encourages student engagement and learning outside of the classroom. Select from one of the options below:

4:10-4:30 PM TIPS FROM THE DEAN Soda Center, Moraga Room Reunite with your student and learn important next steps from the Dean of Students.

4:30 PM OPTIONAL TOURS Before you leave, take a tour of an open residence hall room, and/or a campus tour. Maps for the self-guided campus tour will be distributed at the Soda Center.

Home Away From Home De La Salle Hall, Hagerty Lounge Everything you need to know about campus housing and residential living will be covered!

Gael Health and Wellness Soda Center, Moraga Room Engage in an overview of campus resources provided by the Health and Wellness Center and Counseling and Psychological Services.

Intercultural Center: Building an Inclusive Community Delphine Lounge Come learn about programs, training and social opportunities provided by the Intercultural Center including first-year intergroup dialogues, workshops on social justice issues and cultural nights.

SUMMER TO-DO LIST FOR STUDENTS

Send all AP scores by July 7. Complete the Pre-Enrollment Questionnaire following Orientation, but before July 7. Submit a completed Medical History Form by Aug. 15 to: 1928 Saint Mary’s Rd., PMB 3006, Moraga, CA 94575 or fax to (925) 376-2238. Submit waiver by Aug. 15, to opt out of Saint Mary’s health insurance. Complete and pass the online “Think About It” course before Aug. 15 Join the Class of 2022 on Facebook. Connect with current and future Gaels and get more information and updates on Weekend of Welcome. Read the First-Year Experience Common Reading, Make Your Home Among Strangers. Attend Weekend of Welcome Aug. 23-26.
