WORLD CLASS TECHNOLOGYSeeing Machines is a world leader in the development
of computer vision related technologies that help
machines understand people—by tracking and
interpreting human faces and eyes.
From commericial fleets to automotive and aviation,
our face and eye tracking software algorithms are key
components within our commercial products.
Additionally, they are also licensed to many other
organizations for embedding into their own product
and service offerings. Our philosophy is to partner with
companies who share our goal and purpose—to improve
and save lives.
PROTECTING WHAT MATTERS MOST Road accidents take an enormous toll on the transport
industry. Lives are lost, not to mention the other impacts
of incidents; negative PR, loss of cargo, and damaged
client relationships. The true cost of a crash is often far
greater than it seems.
That’s where Guardian by Seeing Machines comes in.
With world-class fatigue and distraction detection
technology, Guardian helps prevent those incidents
before they happen. So you can protect what matters
most: your people, your reputation and your bottom line.

When Guardian detects a fatigue or distraction event, the in-
cab driver-facing sensor transmits data for immediate analysis
by trained technicians at our 24/7 SafeGuard Center.
We support your fatigue management plan, and provide
critical intervention capabilities—protecting your drivers 24/7.

Safety analysis
REAL-TIME FATIGUE AND DISTRACTION DETECTIONMobile device use and micro-sleeps are two of the most
common unsafe behaviors that impair a driver’s ability to
react in time to potential road hazards.
Guardian works in real-time, using advanced sensors
and image processing technology to track the micro-
movements of a driver’s eyes, facial expression and head
to identify a fatigue or distraction event. When an event is
detected, the driver receives immediate in-cab audio and
seat vibration alerts that help prevent an incident.
For additional protection Guardian also features a
BlackVue forward-facing camera with wide-angle lens.
When an incident occurs, this camera records the road,
giving complete visibility of the drivers’ environment.
Armed with this information, your team can assess all risk
factors, including other drivers on the road, to mitigate
liability and protect your drivers.
Guardian respects driver privacy. It is NOT a CCTV.
Footage is only ever recorded during an event.

HARDWAREDriver-Facing: The system runs on a
suite of sophisticated infrared sensors
that sit in the driver’s cab to detect
fatigue and distraction.

24I 7 SAFEGUARD CENTERAt the heart of Guardian is the SafeGuard
Center. Data from fatigue and distraction
events is transmitted for immediate analysis
by our specialists.
Events are evaluated and, if action is required,
your on-call manager is immediately notified
before an incident occurs.
HOW IT WORKS
REAL-TIME INTERVENTIONGuardian’s in-cab sensor system
detects eye closure due to fatigue and
driver inattention, alerting the driver
with an audio alarm and vibrating seat
when an event occurs.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTOngoing data reporting on events and
trends across your fleet is part of our
SafeGuard Program. We work with your
business to constantly evolve a process
and policy optimization plan. With the
implementation of Guardian and the
SafeGuard Program, fleet operators
maintain up to an 90% reduction in fatigue
and distraction events.

BENCHMARKFor the first 30 days after implementation,
drivers travel with Guardian installed. During
this period, the system is detecting events but
not alerting the driver.
This allows us to learn individual and fleet-wide
driver patterns and establish a baseline number
of fatigue and distraction events.
Customers typically experience a 90% reduction of risky
events after our 60-day assessment trial of Guardian.
SUSTAINGuardian is the best tool for freight and
passenger fleet managers that care about
protecting lives and assets. To sustain the
initial reduction in fatigue and distraction
events, drivers must adopt the technology,
a goal Seeing Machines assist fleet managers
to achieve.
Guardian doesn't just help to reduce risk, it
generates intelligence to drive continuous
improvement. Leveraging the data from a
Guardian-enabled fleet allows you to identify
risk and continually improve safety outcomes
company-wide.
IMPROVEAs soon as the alert functionality is enabled,
fleets will see a reduction in fatigue and
distraction events.
We know it’s not the monitoring that changes
driver behavior, but rather the support that
drivers receive from the alerts. Through
Guardian, drivers are empowered to improve
safety themselves.
Over this 60-day period, Seeing Machines
delivers product familiarization and education
so that drivers and fleet safety managers
understand how the system works.
AS SOON AS THE ALERT FUNCTIONALITY IS
ENABLED, THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE REDUCTION
IN FATIGUE AND DISTRACTION EVENTS…
