6 I would like to suggest a PD on helping with student orientation for faculty. Itmaybe helpful to have faculty have the opportunity to help ask questions beforethey help with an orientation session since many or even all divisions nowrequire faculty to help with sessions.

10 I appreciate the fact there are choices with Professional Development at GTC.Thank you for providing opportunities to polish my craft. Teaching seven classesbetween two schools, my main difficulty is having time to adequately prepare forclass and properly grade the steady influx of student work. English is particularlytough, especially when the instructor/professor TRULY takes the time tograde/evaluate/post comments concerning writing strengths and weaknesses. Ithink this is the major flaw of LMS platforms like Blackboard -- it cannot replacethe one-on-one, face-to-face time spent with a student analyzing/evaluating hisor her writing with "paper in-hand." --B

1 many of the programs are when I am in class. Feb 21, 2012 11:23 AM

2 As an adjunct, I am only on campus at the most two days a week. Jan 27, 2012 2:09 PM

3 Conflicts with teaching schedule or other meetings that are scheduled. Jan 27, 2012 10:05 AM

4 I only work part time and am not aware of all of the services. Jan 27, 2012 9:20 AM

5 I am an adjunct faculty and do not always receive notification when there is aProfessional development opportunity.

Jan 25, 2012 7:46 PM

6 I'm and adjunct and therefore not paid for the time it would take out of my off-campus time

Jan 25, 2012 6:11 PM

7 I am an off site faculty member. Traveling to GTC for a 1 hr seminar during atypical work week is not feasible or practical. More courses need to be offeredonline.

8 Time is the biggest problem Jan 25, 2012 12:45 PM

9 New adjunct faculty as of spring 2012 Jan 24, 2012 3:33 PM

10 Always, same person doing one workshop.Should be choices. Jan 24, 2012 9:57 AM

11 I have afternoon labs and PD activities that I want often conflict. Jan 24, 2012 7:26 AM

1 Prepare after 5 pm training covering many topics or maybe Saturday monthlytrainings

Feb 8, 2012 3:57 PM

2 Weekdays from 3:30-5:00 or 5:30 is the best time for me. This was not listed asa possibility.

Feb 2, 2012 2:47 PM

3 None. Jan 31, 2012 10:53 AM

4 Offer PD events at all campuses. Offer PD events between semester duringfaculty work days.

5 Remove chalkboards and replace with dry-erase boards. Jan 28, 2012 6:36 AM

6 Thanks for soliciting input! Jan 26, 2012 1:17 PM

7 I have attended all the workshops significant to me. I need NEW workshopsaddressing Datatel advising, Gmail management and storage of data, andOutlook training

Jan 26, 2012 5:32 AM

8 Adjuncts should be reimbursed for two hours of PD a year. Training with specificpublishers to use their online content should give you credit as if a PD. I spentabout 12 hours last year training with publishers to use their online content (asan adjunct and not reimbursed). These hours were in additional to PD Icompleted through the college. [Last year was an aberration because it was thefirst time I was using these new online formats from these publishers.]

Jan 25, 2012 7:47 PM

9 Keep the adjunct faculty abrest of any new development opportunities within thecollege.

Jan 25, 2012 7:46 PM

10 I would like to have more professional development opportunities during thetimes I have listed. Often the events in the past that I had wanted to attend wereheld while I was in the classroom, even when they were repeated.

Jan 25, 2012 4:36 PM

11 I think that the workshops that are offered are great, however, I am rarely able toattend them. I'm on a different campus and have classes and labs throughoutthe week, so I don't feel that it would benefit my students to cancel class toattend.

Jan 24, 2012 3:03 PM

12 Having more than one time available for many of the classes is a huge help. Jan 24, 2012 1:20 PM

13 It would be nice to have them at different campuses too Jan 24, 2012 12:14 PM

14 Could more than 1 or 2 sessions on how to create the Outlook Calendar beoffered per academic year? The sessions have usually been offered ondays/times when I am in clinical with my students and therefore am unable toattend.

Jan 24, 2012 8:05 AM

15 Greenville Tech has offered rich and varied professional developmentworkshops and programs for the past several years and I hope will continue todo so. Bringing these activities to our campus saves much time for participantsand money for the college given the high cost of travel to and from conferencesand the rising registration fees at many conferences, SCTEA being an exception.
