2 THE GOSPEL TRUMPET

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness. It was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity. It was the season of light, it was the season of darkness. It was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. We had everything before us, we had nothing before us. We were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way.”

These words from the pages of Dickens’ classic, A Tale of Two Cities, ring true today, in considering the spiri-tual cities of New Jerusalem (the church of the living God) and Babylon (all false religion)–though this is no tale. God has restored His glorious, visible church in this end of time. It is the best of times. “It [is] the epoch of belief.” “We [are] all going direct to heaven.” I rejoice to live in such a time as this.

But viewing the mist and rubble outside of her doors–the sin, the confusion, the deep deception and stench of false religion–it is the worst of times. “It [is] the season of darkness,” and they are “all going direct the other way.” How blessed to be safely on the inside of the city of God, looking out! What an escape! What a divine rescue mis-sion!

And what a Saviour that penetrated our blinded minds and awakened our hell-bound souls! The Light of the world enlightened our understanding, called us to repen-tance, and put us on the one and only narrow way that leads to heaven. All found herein are tasting of the best of times.

The conflict between the forces of light and of dark-ness are intensifying. Satan knows his time is indeed short and has great wrath against God’s church, surrounding this beloved city with all the combined forces of darkness. Her enemies are fierce, her opposition strong.

But regarding neither slanders nor demons, on she marches! With fiery feet and courage in her heart, the church has entered into the year 2015, in the name of the Lord of hosts. Seeking to rescue as many souls as pos-sible, we will strive to expose and tear down the works of darkness and to seek out the lost and hungering souls of this world. May the Holy Ghost direct our steps in all of the outreach endeavours in various parts of the world in the upcoming months.

TESTIMONIES& LETTERS

It’s Real, Exciting and Amazing“Our soul is escaped as a bird out of

the snare of the fowlers: the snare is bro-ken, and we are escaped.” Psalm 124:7.

Words fail to express my gratitude to my Redeemer for rescuing me from the clutches of the enemy! How thankful I am that He reached down in mercy and saved my soul! Salvation far surpasses just a dry, stale profession, or even “just barely mak-ing it.” It’s a glorious, exhilarating experi-ence that doesn’t get old or dull with time!

In the almost-ten-years that I’ve been saved, it’s only gotten better and better. It has transcended anything that I could have ever dreamed of. I’m thankful that my ex-perience isn’t imaginary, my joy a mere emotion, nor my passion for the gospel a fleeting fancy. It’s real, exciting, and amaz-ing!

I love restoration–it’s my life! I stand in awe of what God is doing in this eve-ning time. It’s beautiful to see the gathering work sweep across the world. Seeing the saints in perfect unity–regardless of color, culture, or background–is proof to scoffers that this is not a work of man. Truly, we live in the best of all times! I count it a rare privilege to be a part of this last move of God and am determined to run hard with this great opportunity. By God’s grace, I WILL enter those pearly gates, taking oth-ers with me.

Sis. Marlea Bontrager (Age 20) Wisconsin, USA

I Have Found the AnswersPraise the Lord! God went out of His

way to save me. His mercy is beyond my comprehension. When I was determined to live a worldly, self-gratifying life, and

opposed in my very being to the tenets of biblical Christianity, He took the time, or-chestrated the circumstances and utilized His earthly dwelling–the church of God–to reveal Himself and to save my soul. I was not honest. I was unwilling. I thought my understanding was superior to biblical teaching. I wanted life to go my way and saw no need of changing.

I can’t explain how God was able to begin to open my mind, other than through His love and mercy. As a young adult, I be-came fearful of death. I had a growing real-ization that I was unfulfilled and that I was unable to navigate life on my own.

During this awakening, God allowed me to have continual exposure to His church. I had rejected His people and His message, yet through family involvement, I was unable to avoid contact. The more I was forced by life’s circumstances to see and hear the church, the fewer arguments I had. The saints won me with pure love and sacrificial lives. God’s truth was proved through their example of Christ’s love. Hearing true holiness and purity preached, and then seeing it carried out in the lives of the hearers opened my eyes to my own sin-ful condition and need for salvation. I have now been fully saved for 11 ½ years.

My counterparts in the world have not found answers to the complexities and heart-aches of life. Most of my old friends have been absorbed into the materialistic mainstream. Some have found comfort in psycho-therapy and anti-depressants. One has committed suicide.

By the grace of God, I have found the answers. Truth has been revealed to me through Jesus Christ and those whom He has saved. My beliefs and my life are built

on the only firm foundation. The miracle of it is too great for me to express. I have peace, joy and hope that nothing in this world can provide. This salvation is avail-able for all. Others desire it and desperately need it; but because they cannot recognize it, they reject it out of fear. Pray for me to be a better representative for the Lord. His mercy extends to all. May the multitudes receive it. Sis. Sarah Benion

Driving My Roots Deeper “For I am not ashamed of the gos-

pel of Christ.” Romans 1:16. I am proud to be a Christian and am most thrilled to be a part of the only people who is turning the world up-side-down! I’m glad to be a part of the people that most of the world hates. It’s a high honor to be hated for the sake of the gospel.

As many fight hard against the truth, it just increases my zeal for Zion! Some may talk about the church and talk bad about our ministry, in hopes that somehow it will “change” the young people’s minds about going this way. But I just want to let you all know that the more you try to “bash” the church of God ministry, it just puts in me a greater love and greater apprecia-tion for them!

So you can just keep on talking, be-cause while you’re talking, you are just driving my roots a whole lot deeper! I have put my full confidence in God’s ministry!

I love the blessed church of God will all my heart! She’s been my sal-vation! May God use my life to help

rescue all honest souls from Babylon before Christ’s soon return!

“I love thy kingdom Lord…Beyond my highest joy, I prize her heavenly ways…For her my tears shall fall, for her my prayers ascend, to her my cares and toils be given, til’ toils and cares shall end.” Sis. Aleese Hargrave (Age 19) Ohio, USA

Divinely Healed!I thank the Lord so much for full salvation in my soul! I am

so thankful that He saved me from the pit of sin and put me on the Rock to stay!

I thank the Lord for His healing touch in my body. He is still able to heal today! I became quite ill with tonsillitis recently and had been sick for almost two weeks. I could hardly eat or drink. I completely lost my voice for about three or four days.

Oh, thank God forever more for the miraculous healing. Bro. Jacob Braun came and anointed me, and the same evening I asked him to send a prayer request out to the saints. I felt the Lord was ready to heal me and that He wanted me to ask the saints to pray for healing.

I cannot describe in words how wonderful it was. About two minutes after the prayer request was sent out, the infection opened and I felt instant relief. At this point, I hadn’t eaten anything for two days. I was able to have a bowl of soup that evening. Oh, how good it tasted! The next evening I started getting my voice back. Thank the Lord for healing in His wings! Praise be unto His name!

I want to thank all the saints who prayed for me. May the Lord bless you richly. Thankful to be part of the one body, Sis. Rolanda Maassen Manitoba, Canada

How JoyousI heard some of your wonderful singing online. Surely you are

all enjoying our Lord and His redeeming work! How joyous you all sound. I want to jump in and sing along.

Do you have any music CD’s that I can purchase? In the mean time, “I am not waiting” and “Victory in Jesus!” Your sister, Patty Meier

Surprised but PleasedI was surprised but pleased to find your online songs

while at work, longing to hear some true Church of God hymns. I grew up with these songs and love them dearly, as I do my heritage in the Church of God.

My grandfather, Tom Nipp, Sr., was very active in pub-lishing the Gospel Trumpet magazine. Again, I appreciate hearing your congregation singing these beloved songs! What a blessing it has been! Praise the Lord! Jennifer

SIN. It was the issue in Eden. It was the issue behind the Flood. It necessitated the ultimate sacrifice of the Lamb of God. Sin has been the issue of all time. And it will be the all-extreme and eternity-defining issue of the Great Judgment Day. Cursed, cursed SIN!

God is diametrically opposed to it. He who is “holy, holy, holy” hates sin with a thorough and perfect hatred.

God has plainly declared in His Word that without holiness no man shall see the Lord (Heb. 12:14). Jesus is the Light of the world that lighteth every man and is faithfully striving with souls to try to arouse them to a concern about their sin that is separating them from God (Isa. 59:2); that keeps them in an unholy state. He is calling all men everywhere to repentance and inviting them to partake in His Calvary-purchased salvation to end sin in their lives once and for all.

The inhabitants of the earth, long groaning under sin’s bane, ought to cry out

for this offered deliverance from its grip. And so multitudes would–were it not for the sin-boosting religious denominations that are cursing this earth.

If ever there was a doctrine of devils (and there are many), it is that one can sin and yet go to heaven when he dies; worse yet–that Christians still sin. This doctrine now contaminates the very spiritual atmosphere, and the intoxicated inhabitants of this earth believe it is impossible to live free from sin in this life (despite the witness of Holy Writ to the contrary). All thanks to the “preachers,” “churches,” “spiritual leaders,” religious authours, religious seminaries, etc.

If you want a license to sin, just go to “church.” Their “preachers” are ready distributors of this doctrine of devils. Drink its poison and be damned. Of such, Jesus said, “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matt. 24:4).

A soul is awakened to his own sinful condition. He talks to a “pastor.” He

goes to “church.” He picks up a religious profession of the sin-you-can’t-help-it sort and thinks himself a Christian. He stays and continues to drink their hellish doctrines. Woeful death, for while he believes he is on the road to heaven, he knows not that he has no real spiritual life; he is yet unholy. He is, in fact, still on the road to hell. He will not see God in His holy heaven (Matt. 7:21-23).

To be wrong on this matter of sin is a fatal error of woeful, eternal consequence.

Jesus Christ came to obliterate sin from our lives–and He has the power to do it! And His true people, His church, have indeed been made free from its blight. Glory, glory to God! Blessed, powerful deliverance! Blessed cleansing! All glory to the Lamb!

Souls, beware of sin-promoting, sin-tolerating religions–they are the gates of hell. All that have not separated from unrighteousness abide under His wrath. & Sis. Susan Mutch

6 THE GOSPEL TRUMPET

“But we are all as an

unclean thing, and all our

righteousnesses are as

filthy rags; and we all do

fade as a leaf; and our

iniquities, like the wind,

have taken us away.”

Isaiah 64:6.

Around the 4th century A.D. there was a teacher in Rome, named Pelagius, who intro-duced the heresy now known as Pela-gianism. He believed the consequences

of Adam and Eve’s sin were restricted to themselves only, thereby denying the belief that man inherited a sinful nature from Adam–

man is basically good by nature. Adam merely set a bad example, which was counteracted by the

good example of Jesus. Pelagius taught that man had the ability to be righteous by exercising the human will, apart from the grace of God. The result–a gospel of salvation based on human works.

Although condemned during his time, this doctrine has lived on and has now flooded society. People shrink back from acknowl-edging their fallen state, choosing rather to believe they are in-herently good of themselves. Further goodness they can gain by the exercising of their wills to good works. Because they can be friendly to the hateful neighbor for one week, they assume that a sinner could develop into a saint.

This is not what Jesus Christ and His apostles taught. Christ sought and helped people who knew they had no righteousness. The poor in spirit, the weak and the helpless are the ones whose lives were changed by divine power. Help was brought to those who knew they needed it, while so-called “righteous men” were bypassed. How will someone ever come to repentance if he be-lieves he is already “good”? He didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

If there was anyone who could boast in human intellect and learning, it was the apostle Paul. Yet he declared that he would put “no confidence in the flesh,” despite having been “of the stock of Israel…touching the law, a Pharisee…touching the righteous-ness which is in the law, blameless.” But, meeting Jesus Christ and being enlightened on the road to Damascus, he saw himself as the chief of sinners. Faith was quickened, he repented, and was

saved through faith in the Saviour of men. Now being washed in the blood of the Lamb, he became a partaker of the righteousness that is in Christ.

It is more likely that a physical wolf could turn into a sheep, than that a greedy and reckless person could change himself into a righteous man. And what leopard can change his spots (Jer. 13:23)? God alone can change the nature of human beings, He is the one that can turn a lion into a lamb. Yes, a whole new life is possible through the new birth. But God grants no help to those who think they don’t need it.

Real preaching of godly sorrow, repentance, and the need of being delivered from sin to lost sinners is almost unknown in this untoward generation. Humanly-invented churches ceased to call sinners to repentance, instead they are encouraging their listeners with anecdotes and jokes “to do better” next time. Not being on a biblical foundation, false Christendom has thus opened herself for the breaking influence of pagan religions.

“Just be good” is the tenor of Buddhists in their efforts to climb higher in the endless cycles of life. Meditation and yoga are their avenues to attempt to achieve what they desire and to control their minds and lives–no Saviour, no salvation, and no mighty God needed.

Similarly, “Just be good” is the common criterion to be a good member of a religious group. After all, don’t all “good people” go to heaven? “He was a good person” is enough to have someone preached into heaven at a funeral by a preacher who knows noth-ing of the sin-delivering power of the gospel.

Much of modern religion is not about truth anymore, it is all about people. How many and who all are members, that’s impor-tant, notwithstanding if they are truly saved or not. Their focus on “good moral members” has laid a foundation for successful ecu-menism. At least the desire for good people in a good world unites them.

If it is possible to become righteous by our own works alone,

Filthy Rags

If you believe Jesus is the Way and there is salvation in none other, on what basis do you take this stand? And, are you so sure that you will stand firm though the majority holds that Jesus is but one of several ways or is not a way at all? And, would you even go so far as to take great pains to persuade others to stand as you?

Frankly, saving belief in Jesus is born from divine revelation (Matt. 16:15-17; Rom. 10:17; 1 Jn. 5:20). The preaching of Jesus as Lord, Christ, and Saviour by Peter, Paul and the rest of the ministry of the morning time of the gospel day is foundational to believers in Him today (Eph. 3:4; 1 Cor. 2:1, 4, 9-13). “For…it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” (1 Cor. 1:21) and God hath “manifested His word through preaching” (Titus 1:3).

The Morning Time of the Gospel DayThe Holy Ghost, through the first

generation of gospel preachers, quickened believing hearers, raising them from their graves above even the faintest heart-taint of sin, baptizing them into the body of Christ which they thereby became (Eph. 2:1, 5; 1 Cor. 12:13). Again, the Word of God becomes flesh by the Spirit’s indwelling of believers in the one visible body, His church. As He is, so are we in this world (1 Jn. 4:17). All are fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies in the one body, growing unto an

then why is this world still in the condi-tion it is in? There are millions out there who think they can change themselves. The Catholic Church, devoid of salvation (as are most Protestant sects today), tried to take away the greed for money with every possible instrument. But what do we see? Popes who have lived above what they can afford and bishops living in gleaming luxury.

This mind frame is just another crazy bloom of the vain pride of the human heart. If they would really try to renew them-selves, they would soon discover that they really do need a Saviour to deliver them. But exalting themselves, they turn away from the Lamb who was slain for us at Cal-vary, bearing our sins. I would rather know that I am poor and needy, than to walk blindly in the pride of self-confidence in my own strength and works.

Humans are not born righteous, they must be made righteous. “All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” But glory to God, when the blinded eyes of a sinner are opened, the poor soul cries to God for mercy and admits the folly of trust-ing in his own self-righteousness. Hating the old life, as filthy rags, abhorring sin and evil, God will take away the old things and make him a new creature in Christ. God creates saints, and empowers them to live righteously, free from all sin, by His grace.

Truly, when we make it to heaven and stand rejoicing before the God of grace, it will be only because of the blood of Jesus Christ, and because we left the filthy rags of our own self-righteousnesses and put on God’s robe of righteousness.

Again, we are not interested in “good people.” The Bible requires new creatures. No matter how good your life is, it is not good enough without salvation.

The problem of our time is not just people doing wrong, who should be do-ing right, but it is that people don’t want to admit to their filthy rags. Salvation–free-dom from sin and unrighteousness–is still available for everyone who wants it with all of their heart.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scar-let, they shall be as white as snow; though

holy temple in the Lord, inhabited by His Spirit (Eph. 4:16; 2:21-22).

Indeed, there is one apostles’ doctrine to which all members of His body adhere, preached by one ministry in all the congregations of the saints (Acts 2:42; 16:4). All are members one of another. None are on the outside. To depart from this one body is to cut oneself off from Christ, for Christ is not divided (1 Jn. 2:18-19; 1 Cor. 1:10,13; Gal. 1:6-10). We are of God and the whole world lieth in wickedness (1 Jn. 5:19). To oppose the saints is spiritual suicide. Deliverance comes out of Zion; the law of the Lord from Jerusalem. God has only one house (Joel 2:32; Isa. 2:1-3; Heb. 12:22-24; 1 Tim. 3:15).

What a beautiful reality of the morning time church! How clear the message and practice! How free from confusion! What oneness of the people of God!

What happened?Today among the world of professed

Christians we see an appearance like unto the carnage of body parts strewn to the four winds, and smell the reeking stench of putrefying, damnable doctrines blowing upon them from the seducing lips of spirits of unholy prophets. The sure word of prophecy by the holy apostles and prophets of the morning time is fulfilled in this proof of the great falling away from the one faith; false prophets leading the landslide

Sorcery

“Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matt. 7:22-23.

The worst degree of being lost is to be lost and not know it. Trusting all is well, only to find at the end that destruction awaits. Oh, what a horror to awaken on the Judgment Day to the words, “Depart from me, I never knew you”!

What is this that would give souls a false hope of heaven, and silence the conscience to the deal-ings of the Spirit? It is a false gospel preached by false prophets that is producing false experiences. This has plunged multitudes into such a drunk-en stupor that the dealings of the Holy Spirit can scarcely penetrate the dense sleep and false security that barricades souls from the light.

This is the lethal poison of Babylon’s cup by which the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk. This is the reason for the urgency of the call of Revelation 18:4: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye re-ceive not of her plagues.” For this is her plague, the plague of Zechariah 14:12-17: “Their flesh shall consume away [because of spiritual starvation from a lack of the Word of God], and their eyes shall consume away in their holes [stricken with spiritual

blindness], and their tongue shall consume away in your mouth [You will be smitten with a spirit of silence]…and his hand shall rise up against…his neighbour [because of the confusion and disunity].” And every soul that will not come out, “upon them shall be no rain.”

And this is the plague from which rescue is nigh impossible, for you are left wandering in the halls and corridors of confusion and darkness with-out eyes nor the light of a candle to light the way, and false prophets telling you lies, “Lo here is the way, and lo there.” Oh, what a great lostness to be wandering in a land where the voice of the true trumpeters, harpers, pipers, and musicians are no more. No true ministers to show the way. A silence broken only by the croaking of the three unclean spirits like frogs and the shrieks of the vultures gathered to the carcasses of the dead and dying. A land where the millstone grinds no more; a desert land without food and water. A land where the voice of the Bridegroom and the bride – “Christ and the church” – are heard no more at all, and no craftsman shall be found there. No one to build and restore the waste places. (Revelation 18:22-23.) A land of slumber, silence, darkness and sorceries. Ah, yes, sorceries by which all nations are deceived, seduced into sleep upon the brink of hell.

Ah, what sorcery is this that can cause those who profess to be followers of Christ to feel not the

Bro. David Kauffman

Page 9: GT MarApr2015

THE GOSPEL TRUMPET 9

slightest twinge of sorrow at the divi-sion and widespread sectism that repre-sents professed christendom today, di-rectly contrary to the burden of Calvary.

What sorcery that would cause the Catholic to worship dumb idols and trust in Mary when Jesus said, “I am the way the truth, and the life; no man co-meth unto the Father, but by me”? Dear Catholic, how have you been tricked into being a part of a religion that is re-sponsible for the demented inquisitions, tortures, and violent extermination of millions of souls in the name of God.

What sorcery that causes the Cal-vinist to believe that man is a mere ro-bot in the hands of a sadistic God who will reward the saved for being what they could not help but be and damn-ing the lost for doing exactly what they are be-lieved to be created to do. Dear Calvinist, you have voided out the need for Calvary since from eternity some were unchangeably destined to be lost and others to be saved. And you have made God the author of sin.

What a filthy mixture that would cause the Pentecostal to forget that the Holy Spirit produces holiness instead of senseless and sensual peepings and mutterings that edify neither God nor man, and that the wisdom that is from above is first pure. They profess the Je-sus who drove the demons from the man of the Gadarenes and caused him to be clothed and in his right mind, when they are possessed of a spirit that will cause them to lose their right mind and behave in all manner of unseemly sensual and immodest ways. Claiming the God who destroyed the prophets of Baal while

they themselves imitate them. Dear Pentecostal soul, some go to

the bar to gratify their fleshly senses, and you go to church to gratify the same desires. Both are of the same spirit and produce the same high. Only yours is more deceptive, for you have veiled it under the name of religion.

What sorcery that will cause the Amish to trust in their traditions and their form of godliness while they are denying the power thereof. Denying the power to live free from sin, to have true separation from the world, to have true unity. Denying the power to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Indeed they care not to heed the great commis-sion of the Master, they care not for the lost and have nothing to offer them but

division, strife, formality, and spiritual deadness and decay.

What is there more? We have only touched the tip of the iceberg, for we could speak of many more–so-called church of God groups that are full of racism, worldliness, and ecumenical spirits. Jehovah’s Witnesses prosely-tizing the world, making them twofold more the child of hell than themselves, teaching there is no soul, no hell, and denying the divinity of Jesus Christ and so denying the sacrifice of Calvary. Mormons, followers of a filthy dreamer, denying all reason because of the heart burn they have received from eating the indigestible chaff of Joseph Smith. Charity groups and home churches with their loose fellowships and independent

spirits, where all are rulers and there are none to give an account to. All are drunk.

Why do we take it upon ourselves to call out the errors of all these reli-gions? Dear friends, we have been com-missioned by God to do it, if perchance you would awake for a moment and flee from her plagues and the wrath to come. We have been commissioned to “Reward her even as she rewarded [us], and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.” Rev. 18:6.

We do not decry and point out the errors of false religion without offering a solution. Dear souls, there is good news, for there is a city of ref-uge to flee to. There is a place where

the watchmen lift up the voice together in unity. A place of purity, holi-ness, and love. Yes the church of God, the bride

of Christ, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing.

Jerusalem, the city of peace, is call-ing to all honest souls that are tired of drinking from Babylon’s poisonous cup and being misled by her sorceries. “Come out of her my people.”

Are you tired of her abuses? There is a place wherein is the tree of life, the leaves of which are for your healing. Are you sick of drinking of the murky waters of her false doctrine? There is a place where flows the pure river of life, clear as crystal.

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Rev. 22:17. &

(2 Thess. 2:3; 2 Pet. 2:1-3; 1 Tim. 4:1).The one visible body of Christ, His

spotless bride, had been hid from the public eye, preventing gathering to herself new converts who had laid hold upon the written Word quickened by the Holy Ghost.

The field of this world was a mixture of wheat and tares, awaiting the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy that at the end of time He would send forth His angels to bind the tares and gather the wheat into His barn (Matt. 13:30, 38-43).

The Evening Time of the Gospel DayBlessed gospel in 2015!!! Jesus’

prophecy is fulfilling! He has already sent forth His angels (messengers, preachers) with a great sound of a trumpet, and they

are gathering together His elect (the wheat into His barn) from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matt. 13:41; 24:31). The church of the evening time has come forth visible to the world once again, and thereby the Word of God again becomes flesh by the Spirit’s indwelling of believers in this one visible body, His church. Indeed

there is one apostles’ doctrine all believers adhere to, preached by one ministry in all the congregations of the saints. All in the body of Christ are members one of another.

The dispersed wheat on the outside (in religious confusion, Babylon) are being gathered in as they take their stand for Jesus, who is calling them to “Come out of her [Babylon] my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Rev. 18:4.

All gathered saints are being fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies in the one body, growing unto an holy temple in the Lord, inhabited by His Spirit.

As it was in the early church, to depart from this one body now is to cut oneself

off from Christ, for Christ is not divided. We are of God and the whole world lieth in wickedness. To oppose the saints is spiritual suicide. Deliverance comes out of Zion; the law of the Lord from Jerusalem. God has only one house.

The one ministry over the church of God, this last generation of gospel

preachers, are the messengers (angels) the Lord has sent to prepare the bride of Christ for His soon coming. “For how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” Rom. 10:14-15.

Is Jesus the Only Way Today? If you believe Jesus is the Way and

there is salvation in none other, on what basis do you take this stand? And, are you so sure that you will stand firmly in line with the fulfillment of His prophecies as He is restoring the visible body of the church, His bride, though the majority holds that the visible church of God is one of several ways or is not a way at all? And, would you even go so far as to take great pains to

persuade others to stand as you?

“Whosoever shall be ashamed of Jesus and His words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy [celestial] angels.” Mark 8:38.

“The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Who shall be punished with ever lasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power; When He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.” 2 Thess. 1:7-10. &

THE GOSPEL TRUMPET 11

It is difficult to comprehend all that transpired on the night of February 22, 2015. Due to the rapid succession of events, the number of people involved, and the riotous spirit that prevailed in the mob, this account should not be considered a chronologi-cal document. It should be ob-served, however, that all that is contained herein is strictly true, though no attempt has been made to give the exact order of occurrence. The purpose is only to provide a candid account of what happened when we visited Mount Tabor Church of God in DeGraff, Ohio.

The happenings of this night force our minds to that confused assembly at Ephesus (Acts 19) which was crying out for their false goddess, Diana. “But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephe-sians.” Act 19:34.

“Saints, show them how you feel about this!” “If this was fifty years ago you know what would happen!” “If I wasn’t sanc-tified, I’d beat you to a pulp right now!” “Shut up…and get outa here!” “You get outa here with your sixth-seal doctrine!” (Which is not our doctrine–we are living in the time of the sounding of the seventh trumpet.) “This is Satanic! This is Satanic!”

The evangelist was Ryan McCully, who was delivering his sermon of the eve-ning. Seven visitors from the church of God at Greenville, Ohio–Brothers Randall Har-grave, Patrick O’Shea, Jr., Jason Hargrave, Jonny O’Shea, Jeremiah Estrada, Benja-min Tinsman, and Sean Hughes entered the meeting house and were seated while Bro. Robert Bourn and I were approaching the meeting house to join the brethren.

Seeing our brethren walk in, the pastor, Nathan Price, approached the pulpit and said, “We’re going to end service right here. You folks from Greenville…” With less time than one could respectfully leave, Nathan Price said, “Saints, show them how you feel about this!” Immediately, the congre-

Modern-Day Ephesus

gation of approximately 400 turned to the brethren with cruel looks, pointing fingers, and loud exclamations. Men, women, chil-dren, and even the elderly emphatically screamed out, “Get outa here!” “Hit the doors and never come back!” “We don’t want you here!” They said these things not once or twice, but over and over again, very akin to what we would understand to be a lynch mob.

The people began an unmistakably hostile advance upon our dear brethren, who had peaceably come to the service.Evangelist McCully approached Bro. Estrada saying, “You need to leave.” Bro. Estrada pointed out that his elders (Elders R. Hargrave and O’Shea, Jr.) were present, and that Mr. McCully, also being an elder, could speak to them. The mob then insert-ed itself between Mr. McCully and Bro. Estrada.

Mr. McCully did not approach the po-dium nor exert any effort to take control and cause the mob to cease and allow the brethren to depart their meeting house in peace. After inciting the riot, Nathan Price, the pastor, disappeared for all intents and purposes and was not seen by our little company again.

The advance of the crowd was so de-termined, so very aggressive, that the males of Mount Tabor actually plowed past wom-

en, children and church pews in their determination to rid them-selves and their church building of the presence of these unwant-ed guests.

Bro. Estrada was jerked out of his seat by the arms, the back, and the back of the neck. Our dear Bro. Estrada was even cursed in the “church house” by the “saints” with open profanity. In very similar fashion, Brothers Jason Hargrave, Jonny O’Shea, Sean Hughes, and Benjamin Tinsman were physically as-saulted. Bro. Jonny O’Shea was informed by a Mount Tabor loy-alist, apparently with the “glory in his soul,” that, “If I wasn’t sanctified, I’d beat you to a pulp

right now!” (Thank God for “Brother” Price’s preaching which placed a “reason-able and wholesome restraint” upon the carnal passions of his congregants.)

Bro. Jeremiah Estrada was strongly pushed, and stumbled into two older gentle-men who, with some show of decency, said to the aggressors, “Don’t push this young man!” Bro. Jason Hargrave was violently approached at close quarters (literally one inch from his face), with every sign of force and warning of a physical altercation. Bro. Jason sweetly informed his assailant that he was a Christian, therefore refused to be physically violent.

There was at least one of the Mount Tabor loyalists who admittedly was in no way redeemed from committing assault. He informed us over and over that he was not a Christian. Evidently he desired us to understand that he was not in subjection to the law of God and thus, was at liberty to harm his fellow man.

Elder O’Shea, Jr. said, “This is my first time here–what did I do wrong?” After this, Bro. O’Shea, Jr. was assaulted by several thug-like men and grabbed by both of his arms, his neck, and his belt.

As if the harangue and physical vio-lence were not enough, Mount Tabor devotees performed such acts as grabbing, pointing fingers inches away from our

Page 12: GT MarApr2015

faces, pushing and shoving members of our party out to the parking lot, and slamming a car door as one brother entered the vehicle to depart. The youngest of our party, Bro. Benjamin Tinsman, was mightily shoved and sent stumbling forward.

Our best conservative estimation is that 400 persons, most of whom openly displayed aggression, were in their meeting house. Approximately 100 of those were so aggressive as to leave their coats, hats and gloves and brave the twelve-degree weath-er to continue their behavior in the parking lot. They were screaming, yelling, and vio-lently demanding our immediate departure, yet not reasonably allowing us to respect-fully depart.

In the lobby, Elder Patrick O’Shea, Jr. proclaimed, “This is a lynch mob, and I am not leaving this place without my African-American brother.” Bro. O’Shea was then referring to Elder Randall Har-grave, as these two brethren were the last of our company to depart the building. Bro. Randall Hargrave did not depart, however, before gently reminding some of crowd that it was very important to, “Remember to be nice.” This pleasant advice was left unheeded.

Upon my arrival to the parking lot, I feared that Bro. Estrada would be seriously injured, as he was surrounded by approxi-mately 50 men. Approaching the men, the same gentleman met me, still informing us that he was not saved and therefore, appar-ently under no law to prevent his harming us. What distinguished this man as being “unsaved” and the others who were assault-ing us along with him as “saved” is yet a

mystery. We must presume that the Mount Tabor devotees carried over from the Old Testament not only the use of musical in-struments in worship, but also the physical destruction of their enemies.

The mob was too noisy and too tu-multuous, there were too many screaming people to speak to any one of them in an intelligent way. I looked among the crowd for one whom I might be able to recognize as a leader or the pastor. Unable to deter-mine anything in the darkness, the many faces, and tumultuous assembly, I request-ed to speak with the pastor. My request was

met with loud refusals and imprecatory remarks. I was coldly denied an audience with the pastor and an explanation of the unjust treatment that our people were un-dergoing. Soon, about 100 voices began to chant together, “GO! GO! GO! GO!”

Seeing that we received no love or jus-tice, and that the people could not be rea-soned with, we attempted to depart, which was difficult, as the crowd was quite in our way and the parking lot was rather large.

The desire of the mob was appar-ently to cause us to physically run away, for they unreasonably demanded our de-parture, screaming, “Leave now!” “Leave now!” Elders Randall Hargrave and Patrick O’Shea, Jr. walked to their vehicle slowly and peaceably, refusing to be hurried along at the unreasonable pace which was desired of them. “This is not that hard!” “It doesn’t take that long!” “Get in your car now!” the aggressors shouted. They followed at very close quarters, pressing and urging us on-ward.

We would not leave before all of the brethren were safely in their vehicles and thus, we could depart together without fur-ther physical harm. We understood that at any moment there was the very real pos-sibility that we would suffer additional or more severe physical harm.

Bro. Jonny O’Shea was informed that if this incident had taken place 50 years ago, “You know what would happen!” Fif-ty years ago, in the 1960s, what is known as the Civil Rights Movement was in full swing. Buses and a church building were bombed. Fire hoses were turned on peace-able gatherings. People were shot down in

broad daylight. Dogs were loosed on in-nocent men, women and children. These are documented occurrences. The un-documented abuses and lynchings of Af-rican Americans and those who loved and fully supported them will remain unknown until Judgment Day. Such things and more unfortunately were not uncommon in those years.

Apparently this was the desire of the mob, but they were restrained by the ad-vance of 50 years and the laws of 2015.

Ruins upon ruins, heaps upon heaps. The slain of the Lord are many. Truly we are wrestling against spiritual wickedness in high places. The front is stretched across an interminable line. It seems that each day, more is happening than can literally be re-ported to our readers. We could fill multiple issues of the Trumpet with reports of the carnage we are witnessing daily. But we must let the following suffice for now.

O Canada!In a unanimous ruling, the Supreme

Court of Canada in February struck down the country’s 1993 ban on physician as-sisted suicide. The decision paves the way for physicians to abandon their Hippocrat-ic Oath to “do no harm” (i.e. try to save, rather than destroy, life). Canada follows several European countries and a few U.S. states who have also legalized the practice.

According to the BBC, the Canadian justices ruled that the ban “deprives some individuals of life, as it has the effect of forcing some individuals to take their own lives prematurely, for fear that they would be incapable of doing so when they reached the point where suffering was intolerable.” With such twisted reasoning, is any life tru-ly safe or sacred? We have seen the logical conclusion of this legalized murder/suicide in European countries where people have been euthanized without their consent. To-day it is your neighbor, tomorrow it may be you.

Playing God in the UKIn a sweeping move of unparalleled

import, both houses of the UK Parliament have approved a law that allows for genetic modification of embryos. In effect, the law

allows for the creation of three-parent ba-bies. Mitochondrial DNA is taken from one embryo and used to replace faulty DNA in another, thereby eliminating the incidence of children born with serious mitochondrial diseases. It is the destruction of one life to artificially ensure the comfort of another.

The Telegraph reports that the law was passed despite opposition from churches and a disapproving public. There are real fears that this act will pave the way toward the making of designer babies and the ac-ceptance of eugenics.

Should we expect anything less from a nation where atheism is proudly flouted and Darwin is a national hero? The law takes effect this October, and the first three-parent babies could be born as early as Fall 2016.

Dollars for DollarDollar is his name, and dollar is his

game. Multi-millionaire mega church pastor, Creflo Dollar, issued an appeal in March for donations to replace his aging private jet with a new one. A seemingly innocuous request from the prosperity-gos-pel-preaching pastor, until one looks at the price tag. For Dollar does not want just any old jet, but a Gulfstream G650, the envy of billionaires and which carries a price tag of some $65 million. To reach this mammoth goal, he needs 200,000 people each to do-nate $300 or more.

Now, lest we judge him too harshly and insist he fly Delta or Sky Blue, Dollar’s PR firm explains that he often travels with a ministry team, and they certainly need a private jet, as they often take 100,000 pounds of food to be delivered to the needy. But an industry expert has pointed out that

the G650’s load capacity limit is under that amount, and insists Dollar is scamming the people.

The media backlash has been so swift, that Dollar’s fund raising website for the project was mysteriously taken down. But one can still donate to the project on his ministry’s donation page. Takers, anyone?

Idolatry of the Bible?“It’s sad that people use religion and

idolatry of the Bible to demoralize same-gender-loving people.” Thus saith America Baptist College president, Forrest Harris, to a reporter from The Tennessean.

Harris was responding to criticism of his invitation to openly practicing and “married” lesbian bishop, Yvette Flunder, to address the historically black Nashville college. It is her second time addressing the students, and her speech will center on her “work advocating for the rights and needs of people suffering from HIV or AIDS.”

Members of the National Baptist Fel-lowship of Concerned Pastors, however, are vocally opposing it, calling the invita-tion “irresponsible, scandalous, non-bibli-cal, and certainly displeasing to God.”

Not to be cowed by such language (especially the non-biblical epithet), thus further saith Harris: “When people say (the Bible) is synonymous with God and the truth, we can’t be guided and dictated by a first-century worldview.”

One notes that at the Judgment, when the books are opened, the dead will be judged by the things written therein, not by the opinions of Forrest Harris.

Babylon is fallen! When will you obey the call to come out of her? &

MEETING REPORTS

Philippines: Dear Saints, we rejoice to report to you that the Lord blessed us ex-ceedingly, abundantly above what we were able to ask or think in our recent doctrinal meeting here in the Philippines. Saints from around the world and from various islands in the Philippines gathered together to witness the exciting work of restoration.

The Lord wonderfully used Sis. Eliza-beth Oppel to preach the glorious, end-time truths of restoration that have been proph-esied of old. The burden of the meeting was to establish the saints in the prophetic vi-sions found in the book of Zechariah. The saints eagerly drank in the wonderfully anointed messages that were preached. How blessed are our eyes to see and our ears to hear what the prophets longed for!

Oh how precious it was to experience genuine, Spirit-led worship! Throughout the meeting there was much shouting, leap-ing, weeping, and walking the aisles as the saints rejoiced in their freedom from the world and dead religion.

ObituaryBro. Eugen Moor, of Germany, endured a difficult childhood and youth, which was marred by much suffering, deprivation, and illness. At the tender age of two, he lost both of his parents, and his grandparents took him in. Bro. Eugen experienced true salvation. The Lord forgave him all of his sins and in 1999, led

His child to the one body, the blessed church of God. He loved the Lord with all his heart and endeavored to live a life pleasing to Him.

In the early hours of February 26, 2015, our heavenly Father ended the earthly suffering, pain, and frailty of our 56-year-old brother, forever. In the presence of his wife, his soul left its earthly shell, and the angels rejoiced as they carried this precious saint to his eternal reward in the place of unclouded bliss.

Many were the testimonies of our young people and children as they boldly declared that they are here by their own choice! The presence of God was undeni-ably felt from the beginning to the end.

Our prayer is that God would continue to glorify Himself through the work He has begun in the Philippine islands. Pray that the “Flying Roll” will fly swiftly through-out these islands and proclaim liberty to every captive soul. For restoration, Bro. Markus and Sis. Elisabeth Tovstiga

Ohio, USA: Saints lifted their hands to heaven, leaped, ran, wept, shouted, and literally stood in awe for large por-tions of time as Bro. Addison Everett preached the final message of our doc-trinal meeting in Greenville, Ohio, from February 2-8. The message was enti-tled, “From the Beginning to the End.” By this message God placed His final seal of approval on what had already

and living book. There is nothing quite like locating

yourself in the Bible, and this present work of restoration is spoken of spe-cifically and at length in the holy scrip-tures.

None of the sessions can be done without. In addition to the message already referred to, another of special note is the message entitled, “The 6th Vial; Cyrus My Shepherd” preached by Bro. Robert Bourn.

This meeting has intensified our al-ready hot preaching and enlarged our vision by the spirit of prophecy. Every time we open the Bible we see our-selves therein!

There could have been no more ap-propriate way to begin this new year. Words cannot accurately tell of the pro-found effects of this meeting and we say with the Hebrew writer, “And what shall I more say for the time would fail me.” We heartily recommend this entire meeting on MP3 to all lovers of truth and those in the valley of deci-sion. May God continue to shake the heavens and the earth!

Bro. Stephen Hargrave

Miguel Auza, Mexico: “Pray ye there-fore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Mat-thew 9:38.

With a desire to prepare the way of the Lord and make His paths straight, saints from Durango and La Honda, Mexico, went to Miguel Auza for a weekend out-reach meeting, February 22-24.

Bro. Isaac Thiessen preached on: Faith that is Visible, No Cloak for Sin, The Prom-ise of the Seed, and Angels, the Ministry of the End Time.

Many visitors came out to hear the wonderful singing and anointed messages, and to spend time with the saints another time. Many of them were repeats from pre-vious meetings we have had there. They seemed to really like the saints, asked in-terested questions, and expressed how they liked the truths they were hearing.

been a meeting beyond descrip-tion. The burden of this special meeting was this present res-toration time as seen in proph-ecy.

From the beginning to the end, the Word of God was unfolded to us wonde r fu l l y ! We were fur-ther anchored down and built up in the most holy faith. The books of Ezra, Nehemiah, Es-ther, Zechariah, Haggai, Rev-elation, indeed, the entire Bible more than ever became a new

This, no doubt, was the threatening meaning of the comment that was made to Bro. Jonny O’Shea by a white crowd.

Bro. Robert Bourn, upon exiting his vehicle, requested the honor of knowing if our gospel company could receive any semblance of Christian love. The brother was answered by be-ing pushed back toward his vehicle by several men. After en-tering his vehicle, Bro. Bourn heard and felt that someone was earnestly attempting to enter his vehicle from the passenger side. What that individual would have done had he gained en-try to Bro. Bourn’s vehicle is unknown. The door was locked.

Once in our vehicles, Bro. O’Shea, Jr. pulled up to the car that I was riding in, as I was waiting to see that all of the breth-ren were safely departing, and said, “Bro. Steve, I’m not leav-ing until I know you’re safe! You are an African American and this is a lynch mob!” I assured the brother that I was fine and told him to go ahead of me. Bro. Jonny O’Shea drove us in his car and made up the rear of our little company.

The evangelist Ryan McCully reappeared only after we were in our cars driving away. Mr. McCully would not speak to me reasonably, not only as two ordained elders would speak to one another, but not even with the respect of a fellow human being. There was no handshake, no expression of concern, no sympathy for our abuses which we had undergone. Elder Mc-Cully just made the statement that he would not fellowship me. I simply replied that he didn’t even know me. To my knowl-edge, I had not met him before.

I am not aware that even one person present at Mount Ta-bor’s meeting that night had ever been to one of our meetings or sat down and actually studied the scriptures with us and at-tempted to truly understand our position. There certainly can be no in-depth knowledge that would enable them to make an unbiased biblical assessment of the work of this restoration. Yet, we were shamefully dealt with without any opportunity to really interact as humans beings.

To view an animal treated as we were this night would draw out compassion from any normal person, yet we are not animals. We are men. We are Christians. We never raised our voices in aggression nor retaliated by laying our hands on those who laid hands on us.

Though this may sound fantastic, we do not exaggerate the account but rather have used temperance in recounting the events. We feel assured that anyone with the slightest degree of honesty that witnesses or hears of such an insensible display of hatred may find his help in the Lord and “come out of her my people!” & Bro. Stephen P. Hargrave

They desired that we come back soon. Please pray for the furtherance of the gospel in Miguel Auza, Zacatecas. We look forward to seeing how the Lord will glorify His name there and open the eyes of honest souls and gather them in with His people. Sis. Anna Zacharias
