Grahak Suvidha Kendra (Consumer Care Centre) is a new initiative of the Department of Consumer Affairs(DoCA), Government of India as a ONE STOP CENTRE catering to a spectrum of services for consumerwelfare. GSK is functioning as an extended arm of State Consumer Helpline and on a common IT platformof National and State Consumer Helplines. It has both local languages, English & Hindi service withtrained personnel, experienced in counselling, drafting complaints and providing information. ConsumerUnity & Trust Society (CUTS) was selected and managing one such GSK for the western region based inJaipur. The GSK started its functioning on July 01, 2015. Service Centre Liable forProper ServicingDharamveer Yadav of Jaipurpurchased a new Baleno Deltapetrol version car from VipulMotors, which later had abreakdown after an accident. Hence, Yadav gaveit for servicing to the service centre of VipulMotors but was not satisfied with the servicingconducted by the centre as they were negligentin handling the car and had left many faults,which were supposed to be repaired. Finally, hefiled a complaint with GSK. After continuousfollow ups by GSK with Vipul Motors, Yadav wasprovided relief in the form of proper servicingand repairing.

College was Taught a LessonUpendra SinghShekhawat of Jaipurwanted to change thecollege from St.Wilfried’s to anotherand for that transfercertificate (TC) and a copy of NoC wererequired. But college authorities were takingShekhawat on a ride by not providingrequisite documents. Hence, when the issuecame to GSK, the team followed up withconcerned authorities and after rigorousfollow ups, the college authorities provideddocuments and Shekhawat changed thecollege without any further hindrances.

Damaged Handset Replaced• Narendra Soni of Jaipur purchased an Intex Young mobile handset

in April 2016 from shop cj.com. It was found defective and notactually the one, which he had ordered. He reported the problemto shop cj authorities but no solution was provided. Hence, hefiled a complaint before the GSK, which sent a strong notice alongwith the continued conversation. Finally Soni’s phone was re-placed with a new one.

• Kapil Sharma purchased a new Intex Mobile which stopped functioning properly after fewmonths of purchase. He contacted the dealer but he refused to repair or replace it. He thenfiled a complaint with GSK, who sent a notice thereafter. On following up, Sharma received anew mobile.

Real Estate Redresses the ConsumerArchana Manglagiri, aGeneral Manager inReserve Bank of India atMumbai headquarterbooked a house withAnsal Properties in July2007 at Sushant City,Jaipur for which thecompany promised todeliver within two years. Manglagiri paid a hugeamount of money but the house was not deliveredwithin the stipulated time, hence she filed severalcomplaints on their online complaints system butno redressal was provided. Finally, she approachedGSK through a source, which pursued the matterand she received a call from the company statingthat she will be receiving the possession of thehouse soon on completion of remainingconstruction.

Payment by MistakeRefundedSuchait madea payment ofamount ofM17,000instead ofM1,700 bymistakethrough Airtel for a product, which hepurchased. He called the Airtelrepresentatives many times but did notget any proper response. Hence, hefiled a complaint at GSK Jaipur. The teamfollowed up the matter and a propernotice was sent to authorities forrefunding the amount followed by callsand finally, Suchait received the excessamount back, which he made bymistake.

Refrigerator Repaired by DealerVirendra Singh Akhawat fromAjmer purchased LGRefrigerator from KumarElectronics, Beawar butwithin three months ofpurchase, it stopped workingproperly. He went to thedealer asking for repair buthe refused to either repair orexchange it. Hence, he filed acomplaint with GSK Jaipur,which took up the matter strongly with the dealer.Initially, the dealer did not take care of notices servedto him but when pursued hardly over phone, thedealer reacted and repaired the fridge. It is workingfine now.

Online Recharge ReceivedBaldev Rajfrom Jaipurrecharged hisBSNL mobilethroughonlinerecharge site,the amountwas deductedfrom hisaccount but he did not receive thebalance. Hence, he filed a complaintwith GSK, who took up the matter withBSNL’s Public Grievance Cell. Hisproblem was finally resolved after fewattempts.

RSRTC Refunded the AmountColonel RajendraSingh of Jaipur wastravelling to Delhifrom Jaipur in VolvoBus. On his way toDelhi, he had to getdown of the busdue to sometechnical problem.He complained to authorities asking for therefund to which they denied. Hence, he filed acomplaint against Rajasthan State RoadTransport Corporation (RSRTC). A strong noticewas sent followed with reminders and phonefollow ups. Finally, Singh received his amountback and thus got his matter resolved throughGSK.

Property DocumentsReturned by BankMahendra Singh of Jaipur the obtained a homeloan from SBBJ Bank,Sanganer Branch forwhich he had submittedhis property documentsas collateral security andrepaid the entire amountafter words over a periodbut the Bank did notreturned his propertydocuments. Hence, Singhfiled a complaint with GSK Jaipur for gettingdocuments back from the Bank. Following withthe concerning branch of SBBJ, his case wassolved.
