GROWTH GROUP

To begin with, I would like to praise God and to express my gratitude to you

Brethren for giving me the opportunity to serve Him and our Church through the

Worship Ministry last year, 2015. Having been re-affirmed in the Board of Elders

this year, He once again called me to serve Him and you with a new assignment –

now as Elder-in-Charge of Growth Groups under the Discipleship Ministry headed

by Pastor/Elder Allan Luciano.

As we know, the Growth Group Ministry through the years has been the core of

GCF’s discipleship ministry which we then knew as the Equipping Ministry prior to

our incorporation. In fact, our church, GCF-East, had its beginnings from several

growth groups – ACTS 1 & 2 (Antipolo Cainta Taytay Saints) and GOLF (God’s Own

Little Flock) – from Greenhills Christian Fellowship Ortigas.

Aside from being the backbone of our discipleship ministry, a growth group is a

microcosm of our Church for it practically functions as a “church” within the

Church. During a growth group meeting, we get to worship, study God’s Word, and

enjoy fellowship with one another. Growth groups help us live out Hebrews 10:24-

25, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not

neglecting to meet together, as it is the habit of some, but encouraging one anoth-

er, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

For the past years our growth group ministry has dwindled -- from the strength of

more than twenty growth groups to about 5-7 active groups as of the last count.

We need to be reminded once again of the aforesaid exhortation in Hebrews

10:24-25 that we should not neglect the habit of meeting together, encouraging

one another as the Lord’s return draws near.

We will keep you posted on the sign sheets for those wanting to enlist in a growth

group that meets in a place convenient to you, i.e., near your place of residence or

work as most of these meet during weekdays.

For those who are willing to host or lead a group, you may approach or contact

me (0906-516-7391 & 0939-203-1299) or Con Ragma at our Church Admin

Office.

May God continue to bless our ministry especially in the area of discipleship.

Glory to God in the highest!

III. Summary and Conclusion

The Expositor’s Academy (TEA) has been blessed to have part-nered with GCF East for over a year now. Here’s how God has blessed some of our students through the Bible training:

“I’ve learned about the principle of reaping and sowing from TEA. Week after week, the Word of God has been generously sown in the hearts of God’s people through our classes. I, in turn, pass on what I’ve learned to others—to my growth group, and my Sunday school class, and re-cently, to a new Bible study group at work! My office mates have told me that they too pass on what they have learned, and the sowing continues to the glory of God!” — Elder Mike Alcantara

“TEA provides me with resources, training/discipleship, fellowship, and counseling, that help me ma-ture as a servant of Christ.” —Elder Dexter Chua

“I’ve wanted to study the Word of God in its entirety, but did not know where/how to start. Through TEA, God has graciously cleared up the confusion, and my wife and I have been blessed through the classes we’ve taken. The lessons I have learned has given me the confidence to share God’s Word to others.” — Alvin Lorque (Youth Ministry Worker)

Please join us for our new class starting on Feb 20 — Bible Doctrine Survey where we’ll be studying foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. Classes meet 9am-12pm every Saturday. Cost: 300PHP (150 PHP for GCF East members).
