1There are two kinds of growth and development factors which are internal and external factors.DiscussionLecturingPowerpointTable in the White board1. Students will share their ideas about what they know related to growth and development to the class2. Students will share their ideas about what they know related to the factors influencing growth and development written in the white board.3. Students will get the lecturing session in the end of the topic to clarify the result of their discussion about the material.

Reason: by knowing this concept, students will know what are the factors that will influence growth and development in internal and external view toward animal or it could be also human.

Reason:Discussion is used to engage students prior knowledge and their ability of communication about growth and development in animal. In the other hand, lecturing will help them to clarify and make the discussion in line with the topic.

Reason:Power point will help them to get a broader knowledge.

Table in the white board will guide them to share what they know regarding to the topic. Reason:By doing this learning experienced, students will be guided into a concept in a simple way, but it can engage their attention and participation during teaching this topic in the classroom.

2Animal growth and development begins from embrionic phase

Watching videoDiscussionVideo1. Students will watch the video about the growth and development of embrionic phase in animals (could be in human)2. Students share their opinion about the video they watched, share the idea about what is embrionic phase, and the key concepts related to the embrionic phase.3. Students and teacher conclude about what embrionic phase is and how is the process of embrionic phase growth and development.

Reason:Students have to be guided to have the knowledge about the embrionic phase in growth and development because it will educate them how the process of creature to be created by the God especially in animal and human. Reason:Through this methods, students will have a broader area about how animal can growth and develop in embrionic phase. They may see the real phenomena not by observing directly but it can efficiently watching in the classroom activity.Reason:Video will attract their attention and will reduce the probability of boredness.Reason:By doing this activity, students will get a comprehence knowledge about embrionic phase in growth and development chapter.

3After embrionic phase, animals experience post-embrionic phase.Cards GameDiscussionCards about the sequence of animal growth and development (post-embrionic phase)1. Students do the game by teachers instruction2. Students gather themselves based on the group arranged by teacher3. Students with their group arrange the cards in to the right sequence of growth and development in a certain time (given time by teacher)

Reason:After embrionic phase, students have to know the post embrionic phase and what are the phenomenon happen after the embrionic phase occur. Reason:By doing cards game, it engage students attention and the other way to learn the concept (fun way).Discussion still needed to ensure that the concept they have got in the correct way.Reason:Cards game is a media that will help teacher to be creative to delivering the material toward students. Reason:By doing this activity, students will focus in the activity and disscussing the topic directly with their friends. it will help also the skill of communication among them.

4Some animals experiencing metamorphosis and metagenesis.

Role PlayingDiscussion Article Role Playings Tools Pictures about Metagenesis1. Students do the game by teachers instruction2. Students gather themselves based on the group arranged by teacher3. Students with their group read the article given by the teacher. Each group will get different articles about metamorphosis in certain animals.4. Students do the simple role playing about the animals metamorphosis based on the article they got.5. Students discuss about the metagenesis in animal by the picture that is given by teacher.

Reason:This topic will guide them into the process of animal changes in the certain period. Some animals might change differently, but the other may still the same but only the size that expanding. Reason:By doing role playing it will be really interesting and make a classroom activity more alive than before. Reason:Article is needed as a guidance because it will be related to the role playing activity in classroom.

Pictures of metagenesis will be delivered as a guidance for them to learn.Reason:This activity will help them to understand the concept and memorized easily in the term of learning with fun way. in the other hand they will know that learning is not always that bored

Big Idea 1NoAspectThere are two kinds of growth and development factors which are internal factors and external factors.

1What you intend the students to learn about this idea?

Students know about the differentiation of growth and development and students can identify the factors influencing growth and development of animals.

2

Why it is important for students to know this?Because animal and human have quite similar factors that affecting their growth and development. Therefore, by knowing the factors of growth and development, students can analyze whether something is good or bad for their growth and development.

3What else you know about this idea that you do not intend students to know yet? Endochrine systems organs and functions, and how it works in influencing the growth and development.

4Difficulties/limitations connected with teaching this ideas? The internal factors influencing animals growth can not be seen by naked eyes because it is related to the endochrine system and genetics in animals that it might affects students understanding about this material.

5Knowledge about students thinking which influences your teaching of this idea?Students may think that the size (height, mass) of one creature refers to the external factors of growth especially the nutrition, whereas it may also influenced by genetic factors of animal.

6Other factors that influence your teaching of this idea?Teacher might be hard to specify the students idea about the factors if they mention the factors too broad.

7Teaching procedures (and particular reasons for using these to engage with this idea)?1. Teacher asks the students about their idea about the differentiation between growth and development2. Teacher asks the students to identify the factors influencing growth and development to the class.3. Teacher gives the lecturing session to clarify the result of their discussion about the material.

8Specific way of acertaining students understanding or confusion around this idea (include likely range of responses)?Teacher asks the students one by one about the key concepts related to the material given in the end of learning session. In other word, the teacher ask the students to conclude the materials learned together. When the students can answer the question correctly, so that the students have understood or got the materials well.

9The use of technology in teachingthe idea?Powerpoint presentationLaptopLCD

10How to compensate the absence of technology?Teacher may giving the some articles and discuss about the pictures together.

Big Idea 2NoAspectAnimal Growth and Development begins from Embrionic Phase.

1What you intend the students to learn about this idea?1. Students know that life begins with the development of zygot to be embrio.2. Students know about the phase of embrionic growth and development in animal.

2

Why it is important for students to know this? This topic will increase their believe and let them to be faithful to the God by knowing the process of creating one of His creature in the term of science process.

3What else you know about this idea that you do not intend students to know yet?1. Reproduction system in organisms2. Genetics3. Cell cycle

4Difficulties/limitations connected with teaching this ideas? The growth and development of embrio might not be able to be seen by our naked eyes, and to know the details, we have to use the advanced technology like USG.

5Knowledge about students thinking which influences your teaching of this idea? The students might be curious why a mother can give a birth, and how a baby can grow in pregnancy.

6Other factors that influence your teaching of this idea? The duration or time to pass one phase to another phase of different animals might be different.

7Teaching procedures (and particular reasons for using these to engage with this idea)?1. Teacher give the students the video about the growth and development of embrionic phase in animals (could be in human)2. Teacher asks the students to share their opinion about the video they watched, share the idea about what is embrionic phase, and the key concepts related to the embrionic phase. Here, teacher also asks the students to write down the concepts they get in their own notebook.3. Teacher conclude about what embrionic phase is and how is the process of embrionic phase growth and development.

8Specific way of acertaining students understanding or confusion around this idea (include likely range of responses)?Teacher let the students to share their ideas about the video and ask them to write down the ideas they got. Then, in the end of section, teacher conclude the topic with giving the students question regarding to the material. The students are asked one by one so that the teacher can know whether the materials has been delivered well or not. When the students can answer teachers question correctly, means that they have understood. When they can not answer correctly, teacher has to clarify.

9The use of technology in teachingthe idea?LCD, projector, laptop

10How to compensate the absence of technology? The teacher should have the back up of files in a form of articles that contain pictures of embrionic phase growth and development in animals or giving the model (torso) about it.

Big Idea 3NoAspectAfter embrionic phase, animals experience post-embrionic phase

1What you intend the students to learn about this idea?Students know about the growth and development of animals after they have passed embrionic phase, especially humans post-embrionic growth and development.

2

Why it is important for students to know this?Because they have to know that everyone grows and develops biologically. In their puberty, they might be confuse of some differences in their body. By learning growth and development, they can know why their body changes their size, and shape.

3What else you know about this idea that you do not intend students to know yet?Psychological development of human.

4Difficulties/limitations connected with teaching this ideas?Teacher might be focused on the human pasca-embrionic growth and development.rather than others animals because it is the most essential thing for students to know.

5Knowledge about students thinking which influences your teaching of this idea?Students may think that every person will grow and develop equally at the same age as others, yet it is not. There is a requirement about age and the phase, but not exactly in a certain age.

6Other factors that influence your teaching of this idea?Post-embrionic phase of one animal and other animals might be different. One animal may mature faster than others animals.

7Teaching procedures (and particular reasons for using these to engage with this idea)?1. Teacher ask the student to gather with their friends in a group consist of 3 students.2. Teacher give the groups some cards contain of pictures and keywords about post-embrionic phase growth and development in living things.3. Teacher asks the students to arrange the cards in to the right sequence of growth and development in a certain time.4. Teacher asks the students to share and explain the arrangement they have made to the class and have a discussion about that.

8Specific way of acertaining students understanding or confusion around this idea (include likely range of responses)?Teacher asked about the key concepts of the materials in the end of the class. When the students can answer teachers question correctly, means that they have understood. When they can not answer correctly, teacher has to clarify it.

9The use of technology in teachingthe idea?

10How to compensate the absence of technology?

Big Idea 4NoAspectSome animals experiencing metamorphosis and metagenesis.

1What you intend the students to learn about this idea?Students know about how is metamorphosis and metagenesis and in which animal it can be happen to.

2

Why it is important for students to know this?Because some animals do not develop theirselves in the same form, like human. Humans develop and growth, but they always be human. But some animals like butterfly are not a butterfly when they are young.

3What else you know about this idea that you do not intend students to know yet?Coordination system of living things and the organs.

4Difficulties/limitations connected with teaching this ideas?Time limitation because students have to do role playing related to the metagenesis and metamorphosis phase.

5Knowledge about students thinking which influences your teaching of this idea?Students might think that a caterpillar and a butterfly are two different species, yet a caterpillar is a young butterfly.

6Other factors that influence your teaching of this idea?1. The existance of some animals that do the metagenesis or metamorphosis phase in their growth and development.

2. Some catterpillars which transformed in to pupa are used in silks industrial. Students might think that the catterpillars can reproduce by themselves, yet it is comes from the egg of butterfly.

7Teaching procedures (and particular reasons for using these to engage with this idea)?1. Teacher ask the students to gather with their friends in a group consist of 3 students.2. Teacher asks the groups of students to read the article given by the teacher. Each group will get different articles about metamorphosis in certain animals.3. Teacher ask the students to do a simple role playing about the animals metamorphosis based on the article they got.4. Teacher gives the students a picture about metagenesis in animal.5. Teacher asks the students to discuss about the picture given.6. Teacher with students conclude the material that has been learned.

8Specific way of acertaining students understanding or confusion around this idea (include likely range of responses)?Teacher asks the students to do role playing about what they have learned. From the role playing, teacher can know students understanding about the concept.Teacher also concludes the materials together with students in the end of section so that teacher know whether the material has been delivered well or not.
