Activity 1: Scrambled Sentences (I) Procedure: Give each student a copy of the blackline worksheet, “Scrambled Sentences.” Review instructions together. Students may work individually or in small groups to unscramble the sentences. Check sentences together. Activity 2: Scrambled Sentences (II) Procedure: Cut a copy of the blackline worksheet into 8 strips. Divide class into eight small groups and give one scrambled sentence to each group to solve. Let one student record. Have students from each group read scrambled words and corrected version aloud to the class. Students will count the NUMBER of words in the unscrambled sentence. They will perform the Five ‘n Jive movement from the classroom poster that corresponds with the number (Example: If there are 8 words in the sentence, they will perform #8 on the poster). Perform each movement five times. Students continue unscrambling sentences and performing Five ‘n Jive movements until all sentences have been checked. Some poster movements may be done more than once depending on the number of words in each sentence. Activity 1:
