Norton Partner Program Overview
Partners are essential to our business and this is why, at Norton, we strive to execute a shared,
focused and intentional strategy to continuously provide the best value to you, our partners. And
we’re making investments in our Norton Partner Program to ensure you’re properly equipped to
deliver unrivaled value to our mutual customers.
The Norton Partner Program helps you to increase your visibility and profitability in the marketplace
by extending your expertise across our portfolio of product offerings and enabling you to deliver an
exceptional customer experience. The Norton Partner Program is committed to your partnership
with Norton—and empowers you to prosper by doing what you do best.
“Norton is one of the most trusted consumer security brands in the world and our partners play a vital role in building that trust by working with consumers and small business owners to help them protect their data and information. Today’s threat landscape represents a lucrative opportunity for partners as consumers require security software that is easy to manage and protects multiple devices, regardless of the operating system. Our partner program is designed to incentivize and reward partners who see the value in our products and services and help Norton maintain its position as a leader in consumer security.”

About the Partner Program Guide for Norton Resellers and System Builders
The Norton Partner Program Guide is intended for partners applying for, or participating in, the
Norton Partner Program (“NPP”), and is part of the Norton Partner Program Agreement (“NPP
Terms”). Norton may post or otherwise publish supplements to the Partner Program Guide,
providing more information or terms on Program requirements and benefits, which are also part of
the NPP Terms. Some supplements and other information may be specific to certain regions and/or
partner groups. Norton reserves the right, in our sole discretion, to decide when posted fact sheets
and program information may supplement or modify this Program Guide.
Please review this Partner Program Guide carefully, along with the other supplements to the Norton
Partner Program, posted on Norton PartnerNet. Together with the NPP Terms, this Program Guide
and the supplements provide the terms of your participation in the NPP. Please visit Norton
PartnerNet frequently for the most updated information and version of this Partner Program Guide.
If you represent yourself or your employer as a NPP member, or if you request access or use any
benefits associated with the NPP, you are agreeing to the terms, definitions and policies as defined
in the current Program Guide, supplements and NPP Terms.
This guide, including the programs herein, is aimed at two defined Norton partner types: resellers
and system builders. The guide may also be of use to Norton distributors who wish to understand
the nature of reseller and system builder programs available, but note there are no specific
programs for distributors. Likewise, this document does not address programs for other partner
types, such as digital partners (including affiliates, trialware distributors and demand generation
partners), OEM or service providers.

Becoming a Norton Partner
New partners should apply for the Norton Partner Program by completing the online application on
the Norton PartnerNet portal, https://partnernet.norton.com.
When applying for partnership, you will be asked to indicate your partner type. If your core business
is as an IT System Builder and nothing else, we recommend you enroll using partner type “System
Builder.” However, if you wish to take advantage of other partner programs, you should enroll using
partner type “Reseller.” For further information on programs, see the Partner Program Descriptions
section.
Upon approval of the application and subject to acceptance of the NPP Terms, you may use the
Norton PartnerNet to further explore the provided resources and benefits of being a Norton
partner. The portal is also where you will find the program descriptions and requirements associated
with partnership and competency achievement.
Note, the Norton PartnerNet portal is currently available only to partners in the U.S., Canada, and
most countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Reseller Membership Tiers and Requirements
The Norton Partner Program offers resellers four membership tiers:
Registered
Silver
Gold
Platinum
Assignment to one of the four tiers is based on a reseller’s annual spend on Norton products1. Each
tier provides additional partner programs: the higher the tier, the greater the benefit as more
programs are made available. All accepted partners begin as “Registered” partners, for which there
is no minimum bookings requirement.
Note that tiers apply only to Resellers, and do not apply to pure System Builder partners.
1 This is an approximate calculation based on Norton’s sales to distributors during the previous financial year, which runs from early April to late March / early April of the following year.
Norton Partner Program Guide Page 7 Symantec Confidential Information
Moving to a higher tier in the Norton Partner Program
At the start of each new financial year (currently in April), Symantec will review tier status for all
approved partners on Norton PartnerNet. Partners who increase their yearly Norton bookings to a
level that matches a higher tier will qualify for an upgrade in their tier status.
The following examples provide an illustration:
Financial year
Partner bookings2
Norton Partner Program Status
Partner A
FY15 April-14 to March-15 $1,400 Registered
FY16 April-15 to March-16 $2,100 Silver
Partner B
FY15 April-14 to March-15 $34,000 Silver
FY16 April-15 to March-16 $51,000 Gold
Partner C
FY15 April-14 to March-15 $220,000 Gold
FY16 April-15 to March-16 $270,000 Platinum
Conversely, partners who do not meet the minimum spend requirements for the tier in which they
were previously assigned may be downgraded to a lower tier.
Partners will be notified by email when a change in tier status occurs, and will be requested to
accept the new terms and conditions that accompany the change. In exceptional circumstances
Symantec will permit an upgrade of tier status mid-year, rather than waiting until a new financial
year has begun.
2 Please note that all references to $ refers to US dollars. For transactions made in GBP or EUR, calculations for the sales year FY15 are based on an exchange rate of 1 x USD = 0.62 GBP and 1 x USD = 0.735 EUR.

are being repaired following either hardware or software failure. System Builder products may be
purchased only from approved distributors, a list of which is posted on Norton PartnerNet.
System Builders can be registered in the Norton Partner Program as either a Reseller or as a System
Builder:

Reseller (hybrid System Builder)
All reseller programs are available, subject to tier status.
Access to multiple programs. 2-step approval process.
System Builder (pure)
No access to any other Partner Program.
Simple, one-step registration process
If your core business is as an IT System Builder and nothing else, you are recommended to enroll
using partner type “System Builder.” However, if you wish to take advantage of other partner
programs, you should enroll using partner type “Reseller.”
Whichever option selected, approval in the System Builder Program is subject to approval by
Norton/Symantec. Applicants to this program must have a website that demonstrates their
capability.
System Builder Program Benefits:
Norton Security product for system builders is sold at a significant discount to
comparable offerings available from retailers or online.
The program has been enhanced to allow partners to fully load software on to the
consumer’s device. The only task for the consumer is to accept the EULA.
The product is supplied with a 1 Device license (Norton Security Standard edition)
To qualify for System Builder Program, resellers must:
Be registered and approved on Norton PartnerNet.
Be able to demonstrate they are either bona-fide resellers of PC, Mac, tablet or other
hardware relevant to the Norton marketplace, or that they provide a break/fix service to
computer users.

such as a tablet or laptop.
Bundle Norton product with at least 100 computer systems (new or repaired), annually.
Accept the terms and conditions of the System Builder Program and be accepted by
Symantec into the program
Partners who enroll in the Norton Partner Program as System Builders rather than as Resellers still
have access to NFRs, support and all online marketing materials.
Value-Off Rebate Program
Availability: EMEA only
Partner tier: Silver tier or higher
Increase Sales with Popular Seasonal Promotions
Resellers that have reached the Norton Silver level are eligible to participate in the Value-Off-
Rebate Program, which works to increase overall sales by offering discounts to customers. These
promotions typically run for two to three weeks at a time and often coincide with important annual
dates, such as Back to School and Christmas.
At the beginning of each month Norton provides its distributors with a list of resellers approved to
participate in the current program and thereby qualify for rebate once the promotion is finished.
Resellers continue to purchase Norton products from distributors at standard rates, and then after
the promotion ends, they submit a claim for rebate payment directly to Symantec.
As with any rebate program, these promotions help stimulate sales by encouraging customers to
buy now, and our partners receive the benefit of higher unit sales.
Requirements
To qualify for the Value-Off-Rebate Program, participating resellers must:
Be enrolled in the NPP
Have attained Norton Silver status or higher on NPP
Agree to the EMEA-only program terms and conditions online and be accepted by
Symantec into the program

Mail-In-Rebate Program
Availability: USA only
Partner tier: Silver tier or higher
Boost Overall Sales with the Norton Mail-In-Rebate Program
Available to resellers in the USA that have reached the Norton Silver level, the Mail-In-Rebate
Program provides consumers with great financial incentive to buy now with significant rebates on
purchases of Norton products. This cash-back program is very popular with consumers, which leads
to additional sales for our reseller partners.
There is no cost impact on the reseller, who will continue to buy Norton products at the standard
rate from distributors—and reap the benefits of increased volume sales as a result of the
promotion. In addition, participating partners may request a wide range of marketing collateral that
can be used to promote the program and drive in-store and online sales.
Requirements
To qualify for the Mail-In-Rebate Program, participating resellers must:
Be enrolled in the NPP
Have attained Norton Silver status or higher on NPP
Market to customers in the USA only
Agree to the program terms and conditions online and be accepted by Symantec into
the program

program that rewards you for attaining a sales goal with an attractive quarterly rebate. The Reseller
VIR Program helps partners further incentivize the sales of Norton products, and gives you an
excellent opportunity to increase your total retained margin.
Requirements
To qualify for the VIR Program, participating resellers must:
Be enrolled in the NPP
Have attained Norton Gold status or higher on the NPP
Agree to the program terms and conditions online and be accepted by Symantec into
