The Professional Development Programme is a strategic corporate programme for BSF that guarantees the return on investment in training for employees. The strategic aim of the PDP is to develop well-rounded junior bankers allowing mutual benefits to both employees and BSF. The innovative learning process puts strong emphasis on on-the-job training performing actual work assignments more than classroom training. Therefore the PDP consists of only few weeks of classroom training followed by rigorous and structured work assignments at all key divisions.

Our recruitment and selection process includes several phases of assessment and there are certain requirements which must be met for application eligibility.The application submission date is within the first half of the year (Jan- Jun)The start of the Programme will be within the Second half of the year (Jul- Dec)

Programme requirementsPDP applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: • Saudi National• Recent University Graduate with graduation date not exceeding one year.• Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4-point scale or 4.00 on a

5-point scale • Fluency in English – Speaking, Reading and Writing – International English Language Test

Standard (IELTS) 5.5 and above• Age not exceeding 28 years at the time of application

Assessment Methods The recruitment and selection criteria for this programme is very rigorous, involving not only interviews, but comprising on-line assessments of English language proficiency, cognitive reasoning abilities (Numerical and Verbal), business scenario exercises and psychometric assessments, together with fact-finding and competency-based interviews, culminating in group assessment centers in Riyadh . Candidates will be screened out or in at every stage of this multi-step process

Continuous Assessment

Continuous Assessment Over the twelve months of the programme, each PDP will have an individually tailored Development Plan, compiled in conjunction with the relevant Line Manager, and progression of performance, delivery and personal skills will be monitored through evaluations on a regular basis. You should be able to show that you are suitable to work within our organization and add value to it. You will be given regular feedback, coaching, monitoring and have the opportunity to attend professional training that will give you the opportunity to improve and excel. At the end of one year you will be (upon the confirmation of your division head) graduating.

“Back in 2005, and after I graduated as an Industrial Engineer from King Saud University, my destiny steered me to deviate from the path I had previously identified for my career, and into the banking/finance sector. After reviewing programmes offered by most Saudi Banks, I found BSF to be at the top in providing a well-rounded and structured Professional Development Programme for fresh graduates and the decision was made to join BSF’s unrivalled PDP.During my journey, I had the chance to explore the various bank functions and learned the core and basic banking management skills which I found priceless, given the programme’s time-horizon. After successfully completing my PDP, I joined the Structured Finance Division – CBG where I utilized the knowledge I gained from the PDP course and acquired on the job training during my stay at SFD.
