All Christians come into God’s family as spiritual babes, but the Heavenly Father doesn’t intend that they remain infants.

God leads many of His children through the familiar pattern of unmixed joy followed by times of testing.

When Saul of Tarsus was converted, he was commissioned by Jesus Himself to preach the gospel, and for a brief interval he enjoyed a highly successful ministry.

Then troubles came—misunderstanding, persecution, and temptations.

These obstacles only became a steppingstone in his spiritual growth.Through his beatings and imprisonment he found that God could give songs in the night (Acts 16:25).

Many new Christians testify to thrilling victories and striking answers to prayer.

But before long the old temptations return, answers to prayer aren’t as definite as before, and unsaved people are harder to reach.

Yes, believers experience difficulties.

When this happens don’t become discouraged. God is working to make you mature.

Growing up can be very painful at times, but it’s far better than remaining a baby all your life.

James 1:3-4 tells us the testing of your faith produces patience. ..and that you may be perfect and complete.
