• Reinforce organization: notebook, backpack, and planner/agenda
• Establish a working system for keeping track of homework,
assignments, due dates, tests/quizzes (SKYWARD)

On-line Calendar is an online calendar to organize your family events. A full list of events is available on the District Calendar. To sign up for calendar alerts go to the school calendar section of the LWSD homepage.
Knightly News is an online communication tool utilized by the Lake Washington School District, Inglewood Middle School and the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). You will be receiving newsletters and e-mails via this service on a regular basis to keep you informed of school and community activities for your family.

Through the “For students and families” tab on the LWSD website you can:
• View your child’s grades (Skyward Family Access)
• Email teachers
• Add money to lunch accounts and pay fees/fines
• Access PowerSchool- see teacher’s classroom “website” where they post
assignments, announcements, and any information related to their specific class
(students use this daily, and parents should view it often).
• And much more. Please set up your online parent accounts as soon as possible.

Athletic Participation Fee $75 per sport
(waiver available)
Intramural Sports Fee $25 per session
• All Athletic Paperwork must be complete before practice starts.
• There is no afterschool activity bus. Students must arrange
transportation home from Inglewood after practice and games
(typically ending between 4:30 to 5:30pm)

School Lunch $3.00 per day
A regular school lunch costs $3.00 and includes milk or juice and a salad bar.
Parents have the following options to deposit money in their child’s account :

• Check or Cash: Make deposits to student lunch accounts before school day
in the Commons [aka: Lunch Room] to Food Service Staff;
• Alternatively, you can send the check with your student- hand to Food Staff;

❖ We have U-Knighted 2 times a week.
❖ We have a 40 minute intervention or Flextime 2 times
a week.

❖ Language Arts and Social Studies (LA/SS) will be back-to-back “Blocked”
periods with the same teacher and students.
❖ Students either participate in I-Experience or Band/Orchestra as their elective
choice.
❖ Students will have PE one semester and the IMS Foundations class the other
semester.

ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
• 7:35 – 7:50 Arrival of 6th Graders – Report to the Commons
• 6th Graders will receive a tour of the school and participate in
some really fun small group activities with their 8th grade Knight
Crew leaders and fellow 6th graders.
• Activities include finding their classes and meeting other 6th
graders
• 10:20 – 10:55 Arrival for 7th & 8th Graders – students will get
schedules by the bus area and report straight to class.
• All students will go to each of their classes for a short time
during the day.
OTHER REMINDERS
• Algebra placement test for new 7th and 8th graders is August 27h at 10am-
noon Check in at the main office.
• Curriculum Night is September 17th at 7pm. Parents only.
• Back To School Business Days – if you are registering today (filling out
paperwork), we recommend you come on Thursday August 22nd. You may not be
into the system until then. 8 AM to 11 AM
• If you have registered prior to today (submitted completed paperwork), you may
try to pay online through Parent Access and still attend Back To School Business
Days (to get school picture taken and pick up PE clothes) on the appropriate
grade level day.
• If your child has a 504 Plan or an IEP, please meet personally with your counselor
today before you leave.

and return to any counselor (you don’t need to
see Erica Maule).

must provide proof of residency to receive your
paperwork.
