ABC PocketPhonics (lite)

•Helps students learn how to write letters, learn the sound of the letter, and recognize the letter.

•Before the child can get started, an adult has to answer a multiplication problem, kind of like a security code, before the child can start. The parent can pick between lowercase, uppercase, and/or cursive letters for their child to trace. The child traces letters and then after so many they traced they have to listen to them say the letter and chose the correct letter. Then they show a picture of what the word means.

★ Mindsnacks is an app designed to make learning fun. It has lessons prepared by professionals, and includes audio clips of native speakers.

★ This app has a 4+ rating in the app store !

There are in-app purchases if you want to go in depth with your learning :

★ 50 Spanish Lessons-$4.99

★ All Language Pass-$19.99

★ All Language Pass Upgrade- $17.99

★ This app is designed for both iPhone and iPad! SO students could use it at school or at home.

★ It uses the same personalized learning styles you would find in a classroom setting “to maximize memorization, retention & contextual usage”.

Page 12: Group Presentation #4

★ Likes: ○ The initial app is free to use and comes with

a good amount of games.○ App is well made ○ Teaches correct grammar and usage of

words○ Easy to use and understand

★ Dislikes:○ expensive in-app purchases if you wish to

continue○ only so many games you can play without

purchasing

★ How can this be used with common core?○ The language sections aren’t directly

connected with any common core directives, I believe. It can be used as an enrichment program for the students to practice their knowledge and prepare for the next lesson.

○ The Kids Vocab section has been designed to support the common core standards!
