What does it take to be an effective teacher in 2010 and beyond?
• What is the definition of effective? • Producing a specific effect; forceful, striking in
impression; actual, real, operative.( Webster's reference Library, 2007)
• Producing a specific effect; is teaching all students to their optimum learning capabilities to understand and retain the knowledge of the curriculum taught. Striking in impression; is encouraging the students to learn in an engaging and impressionable ways which will enable retention. Real, operative and actual : is linking learning to real life situations, to be able to use the knowledge in every day life.

What does it take to be an effective teacher in 2010 and beyond?
• Effective teaching relies on many various strategies of teaching, behaviour management and is underlined by many different theories. Decision making skills and a willingness to teach with the students in mind. Teaching children to be resilient and develop good problem solving skills so they can cope with and work through any problems that they encounter in their lives.
