Aircraft and aerodrome-related occurrences Collision or near collision on the ground or in the air, between aircraft. • Boardingequipmentremoved,leadingtotheendangermentofpassengers

• Incorrectstowageorsecuringofbaggage,mailorcargolikelytoendangertheaircraft,equipmentoroccupantsorimpedeemergencyevacuation

• Transport,attemptedtransportationorhandlingofdangerousgoodsthatresultedinorcouldhaveresultedinunsafeconditions/operations

• Non-complianceregardingbaggageorpassengerreconciliation

• Non-compliancewithrequiredaircraftgroundhandlingandservicingprocedures(e.g.de-icing,refuellingorloadingprocedure,includingpositioningorremovalofequipment)

WHY IS REPORTING SO IMPORTANT?Theeffectivemanagementofsafetyishighlydependentontheeffectivenessofsafetydatacollection,analysisandoverallmanagementcapabilities.

Havingasolidfoundationofsafetydataandsafetyinformation isfundamentalforsafetymanagement,sinceitisthebasisfor data-drivendecision-making.

Reliablesafetydataandsafetyinformationisrequiredtoidentifytrends,makedecisionsandevaluatesafetyperformanceinrelationtosafetytargetsandsafetyobjectives,andtoassessrisk.
