Invite 3 people up, work together and put them in the right order while christmas music isplaying.

    The Correct Order of pictures:

    1. The Angel and Mary2. Jesus is born3. Angels telling the shepherds4. Shepherds visiting the baby5. Wise men following the star6. Wise men visit Jesus

Once the minute time is up, reveal the correct order of pictures and see how many they had inthe right position.

At Christmas time we watch cute nativity plays that show the Birth of Jesus. But we forget thatJesus is the whole reason for Christmas. Christmas was Gods plan since the very beginning

    STORYTELLING

Share the story of Jesus birth by inviting some children and leaders to help you read. distributethe cards to leaders, older children, and confident readers, before the lesson, allowing them toread and practice. The story is read from different books of the Bible, Matthew and Luke, in wasis regarded as the chronological order of the story.

Matthew 1:18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged tobe married to Joseph. She was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:28-33 The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lordis with you. Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting thismight be. But the angel said to her, do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. you

will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be

great and will be called the Son of the Most High.

Luke 1: 39-40 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariahs home and greeted elizabeth.

Luke 1:56 Mary stayed with elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.

Luke 2:1, 3 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of theentire Roman world. And everyone went to his own town to register.

Luke 2:4-5 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehemthe town of david, because he belonged to the house and line of david. He went there to register

with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

Luke 2:6-7 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth toher firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there wasno room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:8-12 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over theirflocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone aroundthem, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, do not be afraid. I bring you goodnews of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of david a Saviour has beenborn to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped incloths and lying in a manger.

Luke 2:13-15 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praisingGod and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favourrests. When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another,Lets go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.

Luke 2:16-20 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying inthe manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been toldthem about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as theyhad been told.

    SMALL GROUP

    Connect Time

What food do you eat at Christmas time?

    THE BIG QUESTION

    1. What do you think it would have been like in the stable where Jesus was born?

It might have been cold, smelly, dirty and dark. Jesus, the King of Kings, came to earth as ahelpless baby and was placed in a manger, a feeding trough for animals!

    2. Why did God send Jesus?

God sent Jesus to be our Savior. Gods plan from the beginning of time was Jesus. John 3:16(NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes inhim shall not perish but have eternal life. He lived a perfect life, He had no sin so that He couldtake on sin for us, restoring us to a relationship with God.

    3. Why is Jesus the best gift ever?

We get some great gifts at Christmas time, but eventually toys will break or we get sick of playingwith them, clothes wear out and things get old. Jesus is the best gift ever because Jesus came foevery person in the whole world, a gift for every person for all time. It is only through Jesus thatwe can be saved from sin and have a relationship with God. Gods gift of grace, forgiveness andsalvation through Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever.
