When did you start writing music?Well, I fi rst discovered my love and passion for music at a very young age, listening to different music gen-res, not just for the beats but to try and understand the song lyrically, it’s not always about the beats but the beats make a good song. From this I started writing my own lyrics basing them on my own life experiences; this was at the age of 10. Throughout the years I have developed my lyrical abilities, making more complex verses, I started writing melodies and writing full length songs. At the age of 15, I brought home my own music studio, and started making my own beats. I was serious about this, it was something I enjoyed doing a way for me to express myself and that it basically I then actually started recording my own songs.

What motivates you to write lyrics? The motivation behind writing my own lyrics comes from things that have happened to me, personally, life events, feelings that I have experienced whether they were good or bad. ‘Anything that tells a story really’. Each of my songs tells a different story, which people can relate to. When you ask who I write my lyrics about well, if I told you that I’d have to kill you. Ha-ha, only kidding there is a lady in my life but I can’t say who!

Who is your idol?I don’t really have an idol as I don’t believe in that. I don’t usually like comparing myself to anyone, as I think I have my own style, as I like experimenting new things, but some artists who I have been compared to include ‘ Tinnie Tempah, Sway, Skepta and Kano’, but every artist has a distinctive role. I got many different fl avours ‘ I’m like a box of celebrations’ –take your pick – you never know what you’re going to get! Ask this question to some other young artist in a few years and I will be there answer ‘Mr. Mango’, well I hope so any-ways. I hope I do make it to the number one spot! I hope to make my fans proud and soon I will be making the music that everyone wants to hear.

Where do you see yourself in the fu-ture? I want people to like my music but not to follow me around, I don’t like all the paparazzi, I would love to be like ‘Game’ I have always loved his music. I want to keep making music until the day someone tattoos my face on their faces and my name on their body, if you name your child after me I would certainly be happy! Seriously I would love to have people screaming my name and watching people listening to my music and understanding the lyrics and the meaning, which would be like I have achieved something in my life!

Did you always want to be an artist?I don’t believe in planning and so I never plan in any-thing. I tend to just go with the fl ow. Well no it’s just something that happened somewhere along the way, but I felt the connection with music so I pursued it and here I am today! I’m really glad this has worked out for me. Things happen for the best and so this is it!

Who/what inspired you to become who you are today? That’s a tricky question, it’s not really a case of some-one or something that inspired me, but more of a self inspiration of just trying new things ‘ I had this hidden talent’, Until that one day, all these lyrics come rushing to my head and my unique voice that has amazed many. So you just have got to try new things even if you feel afraid just go with the fl ow, you don’t lose anything, you might actually fi nd yourself gaining something rather than losing

Do you have any advice for other young artists? The only thing I can say is just go for it, do what you fell and don’t hold back, if you believe you can do it then you have no reason to hold back. Don’t aim high, aim for the top, aim for the number one spot and success is more or less guaranteed!
