Be Green Packaging LLC, Director of Quality (first Quality Manager in the company) July 2015 to Jan 1/2017; Contract Services 1/1/17 to present. An entrepreneurial manufacturer of biodegradable/compostable containers for Food Service and Commercial sector packaging. Processes natural fibers on large-format multi-stage molding machines, similar to plastic molding. Commercial parts feature high-precision complex geometries similar to injection molding. Plants in U.S. and China.

Responsibilities include development of the Quality Management System QMS, procedures, testing protocols, Corrective Actions, ECN, Product Development. Food Safety, FDA & Regulatory compliance of challenging materials.

Director of Quality Assurance July 2004 to October 2011A vertically-integrated designer and manufacturer of custom packaging products for the consumer, food, medical, and pharmaceutical markets. Revenues in excess of $180 MM. Developed and directed the Quality System for 9 global facilities.

Eliminated high levels of customer rejections, drove improvements that achieved 2 years without a customer return.

National Trainer for GMP & HACCP, was the National Technical Contact for strategic bottled water clients.

Nestle Waters North America (Nestle S.A.) December 1997 to November 2001National Quality Laboratory Manager/ Packaging Quality Manager Directed one of the country’s premier certified chemistry/microbiology water laboratories to become a proactive problem-solving resource for factory operations. State-of- the art instrumentation.

Coordinated a successful initiative with Pasteur Institute (France) to establish reliability controls for all U.S. plants, which are still in place today.

Some Achievements, all companies Developed Lean Manufacturing sanitation procedures and eliminated off-shift

sanitation activity resulting in direct labor reduction of $300,000 annually and decrease in associated downtime by 75% (Nestle Waters).

Coordinated FMEA team to eliminate losses from stress crack formation in HDPE water bottles, resulting in $40,000 per month in scrap reduction (CCC).

Drove process yield improvements resulting in $500,000 annual cost improvement (7Up/RC Bottling)

Enabled the use of Post-Consumer Recycled plastics (PCR) for food-contact packaging (a new product category) by developing effective Risk Mitigation and regulatory strategies (Packaging Plus LLC).

Coordinated 6-sigma project with Dow Chemical that reduced root causes of plastic taste & odor (CCC).
