“When we are in pain, or come in contact with someone in pain…we can head to ‘the rock that is higher’ (Psalm 61) or lead someone there. While God may not take away all our pain, we can rest in the peace He provides and the assurance that He hears our cry.” Linda Washington

There are a number of dishes on the shelves in the north hallway. Please check to see if any of them belong to you and if so, take them home. (Some of them have been there for a while.) Thank you. The Sunday Evening Bible Study and Fellowship will resume tonight at 5:00 pm. We will discuss Chapter 6: Kingdom in Conflict. The Amen Chorus will be having concerts at Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas on April 28th at 7:00 pm and April 29th at 3:30 pm. The Council voted to sponsor at table at the Right to Life Dinner being held at the end of this month in Cadillac.

The Council was asked to contribute to the Dordt College PLIA fund, Put Love In Action, at the request of Jonathon Eisenga, who went to Kentucky on a mission trip to work on houses. They approved monies from the Highland Home Mission to be sent to the PLIA.

VBS will again be in the evening this year, set for the week of August 6th.

As a Council, we were reminded that we have a thoughtful, generous church with our time, talents and resources.

Precious Gems is hosting a Mother/Daughter/Friend Tea on May 5, 2018 from 10:30-2:00 pm at Temple Hill Baptist Church. Tickets are $12.00 before April 15 and $15 after that date. Please see the church bulletin board, their website, or call 826-4148 for details. Prime Rib Dinner. Men, it is written “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4: 4 A good steak every once in a while is great, too. Join us at Vogel Center CRC on Monday, April 16th at 6:00 pm. You can feed your stomach and feed your spirit. Chad Schreur, a member of Deeper Journey, the men’s ministry at Hillcrest CRC and Pastor Brian Bosscher from Hillcrest, will be leading us in a night of praise, worship and spiritual growth. Tickets are $10 per seat and seating is limited so you will want to RSVP soon. Contact the church office at (231) 825-2053 or register online at http://www.vogelcentercrc.org by Wednesday, April 11th. The dinner of prime rib, potato and vegetable begins at 6:00 pm. Join Us at Hughston’s Cow Camp. S.P.U.R.S (Special People Understanding Rodeo Skills) will host a free event, rain or shine, on Saturday, May 5th from 12:30 to 3:00 pm. A light lunch, including hot dogs, will be provided at 12:30 pm, followed by events of your choosing: horseback riding, wagon trail ride, mock steer roping, pole bending, mock bronc riding and photo station. This is for people of all ages with disabilities. There will be prizes for all who participate. Participants must be accompanied by an attendant. If you have questions, please call Brenda (231) 920-9391. All are welcome. Mississippi Spring Break Mission Trip Reflections: We will reflect on our recent Mission Trip to Mississippi this Sunday, April 8th at 4:30 pm at Lake City CRC’s Youth Building.
