Introduction

GreenWorks Mowing and Landscape Company is writing this proposal for the town of Augusta, Oregon, in response to the ad that was placed in the newspaper. As a local company we are interested in creating a business relationship with the town of Augusta. These few areas that need to have weekly upkeep are easily accessible to our company. Our company specializes in mowing and landscaping to both large and small areas. We work with many cities and individuals to cater to their needs. This proposal will address the needs of the town of Augusta, how GreenWorks can provide those services, a detailed schedule of how we will perform these services, and assurance of our professionalism so that you can pick the best company to complete these services.

Labor and Staff

GreenWorks Mowing and Landscape Company takes pride in having a very detail oriented staff that is qualified to perform the tasks asked of the people of Augusta. The state of Oregon has named our company “Number One in Lawn Care Maintenance” for the past three years. We have 25 qualified lawn care technicians and a full office staff to answer any questions you might have. GreenWorks has never had any safety issues. We take measures to ensure the safety of the people who employ us and for our staff. Each staff member wears a safety vest while working and safety cones are placed outside of the mowing and landscaping areas while all equipment is being operated. Also, signs are posted in outside all areas where we are working to inform the public that lawn equipment is being operated in that area. Below is a picture of our safety equipment that is used on site.

Equipment

GreenWorks uses only state of the art, industrial strength, and quality equipment. Each machine used by our mowers has been run through a series of mechanical tests to ensure its safety for not only our employees but also for the landscaping areas we do. Below is a picture of our state of the art, industrial strength, quality equipment we use.

Schedule

As stated in the request for proposal, mowing of the designated areas will take place once a week starting the week of May 30, and ending the week of September 30. Below is a detailed table of which areas we would be mowing on which days of the week and what time those mowing would be taking place.

For the mowing of the five miles on Route 24 median and sidings we would employ 3 workers for 3hours.

For the mowing of the ten acres of Willoughby Park we would employ 5 workers for 3 hours.

For the mowing of the 23 acres of Augusta Memorial Golf Course we would employ 10 workers for 6 hours.

These hours would ensure that all the work would be completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Budget

GreenWorks would charge the town of Augusta $4,000 per week for all of the mowing. This breaks down to $270 per hour plus expenses. Below is a breakdown of how the money would be distributed.

Hourly:$15/hr x 18workers = $270

Weekly:$270 x 12 hrs/week = $3,240

Expenses:Insurance for workers - $150Mechanical insurance for equipment - $210Company expenses - $400

The overall cost for the entire job, starting on May 30 and ending on September 30, would be $64,000.

We have never had a budgeting problem with a job; however, in the event that this happens there is a plan developed by our accounting team to ensure our customers are never being asked for more than originally contracted. In the event of under budgeting for this project all expenses over the agreed upon amount will be covered by our company. This fact is stated in the signed contract with all customers.
