Prioritized Needs

Identify Prioritized Needs: What are 2-3 prioritized needs that must be addressed to increase student achievement? (SLO goals)

Justification through Data Analysis: What data or findings from the needs assessment led to the team to identify this prioritized need?

1. Students need to write to explain more of their math reasoning with given faulty reasoning.

Students with lower math content but higher math reasoning had higher overall math performance. Students with higher math content and higher math reasoning, tended to have high 4s or 5s on the math assessment. We do not yet have 100% of students achieving proficiency or greater on the math MCAP.

2. Students identified as being above or well above the mean for MAP growth do not always have 5s on the MCAP.

Students who have well above average performance on MAP growth math do not always show the same level of performance on MCAP. MCAP content scores tend to be higher than Math and Reasoning subtest scores for such students.
