Come listen to our students share the great news of Jesus birth. Congratulaon to our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team. They finished 2nd in the Green Park basketball tournament last weekend. Our 7th and 8th grade girls are in the Salem Aon basketball tournament and play for the championship on Saturday, December 10 at 2pm. Just a word of encouragement to all families. This me of year things get out of roune and children become a lile less seled. As they say, this too shall pass. Keeping rounes as close to normal during this me helps the most. PROGRAM The Sports Collectors Warehouse presents the Sports Collectors Expo this Sunday, December 11, from 8:00am to 2:00pm at the Bud Dome Sports Complex, 9711 Green Park Industrial Drive. This expo will help raise funds for the D.A.R.E. program. Admission is $4.00 in advance, and $6.00 at the door. Sports Collectors Warehouse will donate 50% of the admission price for any family member who aends. The expo will feature autograph signings with Whitey Herzog, Mike Matheny, and some of the 1980’s St. Louis Cardinals. More details can be found on the aached flyer. GOD'S WORD NEVER WEARS OUT, BUT YOUR OLD BIBLE JUST MIGHT! The Lutheran Rangers are offering dignified disposal of your unwanted Bibles and American flags as a service project. Please drop them off at our pretzel table Sundays at LCR or see your local Ranger prior to January 6. We plan to donate usable Bibles to charity so please mark your Bible if you'd rather not have it donated. We will hold "rerement" ceremonies at our cabin campout on January 7. SAVE THE DATE! PRINCIPAL’S CORNER Excitement is in the air at Green Park. The Kindergarten through 4th grade classes have been practicing for weeks on their production of “At Tree Lot Christmas”. This production finds yet another way to share the great message of the Savior’s birth. If you read this in time, you are invited to the production this evening at 7pm. Congratulation to our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team. They finished 2nd in the Green Park basketball tournament last weekend. Our 7th and 8th grade girls are in the Salem Affton basketball tournament and play for the championship on Saturday, December 10 at 2pm.

Just a word of encouragement to all families. This time of year things get out of routine and children become a little less settled. As they say, this too shall pass. Keeping routines as close to normal during this time helps the most. The students are excited about Christmas but sometimes lose focus from time to time, but hang in there, everything does return to normal!

SCRIP NEWS A Scrip order is coming home today Friday, December 9. Please check your child’s backpack if you placed an order. The next order will be entered on Friday, January 13, 2017, with a delivery date of Friday, January 20, 2017.

A special Scrip Order Form is attached to the Green Sheet e-mail. Please use this form. This Scrip Order Form includes some special, limited time only, small denomination cards that will not be available after today. DO NOT use any forms dated prior to August, 2016. Old forms are outdated and may contain retailers who no longer sell Scrip.

DECEMBER CHAPEL OFFERINGS TO BENEFIT LUTHERANS FOR LIFE Chapel offerings for December will be benefitting Lutherans for Life. Lutherans for Life assists laypersons and church professionals in educating people about life issues. They encourage our churches to integrate these issues into their worship and education classes. LUTHERAN SOUTH ADVENT BAND CONCERT The Lutheran High School South Music Department proudly announces its annual Advent Band Concert. The concert is tonight Friday, December 9 at 7:00pm and will be performed in the Concordia Center at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood. The concert of traditional Christmas music and other band literature will feature the school’s Wind Symphony, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. The bands are conducted John W. Miller and Matthew C. Janssen. LUTHERAN SOUTH CHRISTMAS CHORAL CONCERT The annual LHSS Christmas Choral Concert is being given at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood on Sunday, December 18, at 7:00pm. The concert includes all four high school choirs, and the Junior Singers (select middle school choir sponsored by LHSS). The choirs are directed by Greg Gastler, assisted by Mary Zubert and Kelly McCord, pianists. Tickets are not required for either concert, though a door offering will be taken. CHRIST MEMORIAL GIRLFRIENDS RETREAT Mark your calendars for Friday, January 27, and Saturday, January 28, 2017. Christ Memorial will be hosting a Girlfriends Retreat for high school age on up. For more information, please call Jodi Pagano at 314-566-6992. LUTHERAN SOUTH CRAFT FAIR Saturday, December 10, Lutheran South will be hosting their annual Craft Fair from 9:00am-3:00pm. More than 150 booths will be present. Admission is free. A flyer is attached with more information. STUDENT ILLNESS NOTE For the well being of all our students and staff, please do not send your child to school unless they are fever free (without any fever medication), no vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours. If a student has strep throat they must be on antibiotics for at least 24 hours. The school nurse cannot give over the counter cough and cold medications to students without a written note from the doctor and signed by the parent. Cough drops may be brought to school and kept in the nurse’s office for proper use. Finally, if your child is sick or not coming to school, we ask that you call the school office in the morning to let us know the reason why your child is absent. If you need to contact Ms. LeMunyon, for any reason, her office hours are 10:30am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday, or you can email her at : [email protected]. TOURNAMENT THANK-YOU Thank you to the many parents and volunteers and teachers who helped make our 7th & 8th Boys Basketball Tournament a success last weekend. Our team came in second place – way to go Vikings! Many thanks to Mrs. Cibulka who coordinated the concessions and gate admissions and clean-up. Many compliments were received about our tournament and the help that we had. Thanks, Green Park Community!
