A word of encouragement for parents to make sure the students are geng enough sleep and a healthy breakfast in the morning. This will help the students do the best that they can on these tests. Just a quick word about the achievement tests. We have moved to a new test, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, for the coming years. Stanford, for the past three years, had not been able to update the grading norms and have led our schools to believe they were no longer providing this test. With the coordinaon of LESA organizaon and all the other Lutheran schools in the area, it was decided to move in this direcon. Although these tests are important, please understand they are not an end all descripon of your childs academic ability. This gives the teachers a snapshot of where students are in relaonship to other schools in the country. It is also one more assessment tool along with homework, quizzes and tests to gain a complete picture of students abilies. Parents will receive tesng results in mid-May. Thanks to Lutheran Family and Childrens Services of Missouri, Colleen Matlock, MA, LPC, joined the Green Park staff in early March, replacing Ms. Woehlke who left to take a new job. Mrs. Matlock earned her MA in Counseling at Webster University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has worked in ABA Therapy with behavioral care for children with autism and run social skills classes for children 18mos-high school. She brings special training in care for victims of trauma called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) including anxiety or phobias. While shes worked intensively in home with kids with behavioral disorders, shes excited to be in a school. SCRIP NEWS A Scrip Order was entered today, Friday, April 6, and will be delivered next Friday, April 13. The last Scrip Order of the school year will be entered on Friday, May 4, with a delivery date of Friday, May 11. This order is always a nice one to use for purchasing end-of-the-school-year gifts. Please plan accordingly.

Please note, Dierbergs and Shop ‘n Save gift cards are available for purchase in the school office. The cards can be purchased in denominations of $25 or $100.

CHAPEL OFFERINGS TO BENEFIT FEED MY PEOPLE Our chapel offerings for the rest of the year will be going to Feed My People. Feed My People was started in 1982 as a way to help people in the South County area needing food. Today, Feed My People has over 25 programs, including a Thrift Store at each location as primarily a service to their clients, but also open to the public. This organization serves 16 different zip codes in the St. Louis area and helps over 80,000 people each year. Feed My People is supported by donations from individuals, schools, churches, businesses, foundations and community groups. Please help us support their service to our community!

PEACE LUTHERAN OFFERING SUMMER CAMP The Peace Early Childhood Department is again offering a Summer Camp for kids for ages 5 - 12. Monday through Friday, from 6:00am-6:00pm. CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS AT LUTHERAN SOUTH Are you an 8th grade girl with lots of cheer? Lutheran South will be hosting Cheerleading tryouts for the 2018-19 Season.
