It’s worked well because they are all set away from the main house so we have a good degree of separation, so apart from making sure they are ready for our guests they don’t have a huge impact on our daily lives.”

“The house sits in just under three acres of land and I’d describe it as a very varied space,” continues Lynn. “We have an attractive formal garden that wraps around the house, there are two fields, one of which is currently home to a couple of sheep, and then there’s a very nice courtyard area down by the holiday lets. It’s all relatively easy to look after, but best of all it’s wonderfully peaceful and the outlook is just lovely.”

“One of my favourite rooms is the lounge,” says Lynn. “It’s dual aspect, so very light and bright during the day, and the wood-burning stove creates a really cosy atmosphere when it’s cold and miserable outside.”

“It’s the feeling of having the best of both worlds that I’d say has kept us here for so long,” says Lynn. “Within the house and grounds we feel far removed from everything, and yet in reality we have easy access to just about everything. It’s ideal.”

“We’ve converted three of the outbuildings into these really beautiful holiday lets, but there’s still the potential to do more,” says Lynn. “Within the grounds there are two other buildings that – subject to planning – are absolutely ripe for development.”

“The house is just lovely and we’ve really enjoyed running the holiday letting business, but in terms of what I’ll miss most when we leave it will without doubt be the setting. It’s so incredibly peaceful here and being able to step out of the front door and walk for miles through this glorious countryside has been an absolute joy.”*

Ground floorFrom the porch the large and principle sitting room oozes charm from the timbered ceiling and grand stair and along the natural stone walls. Popular as they are located with many walking trails nearby to explore and attractions to discover, perfect family holiday home. They have been sympathetically converted retaining many beautiful features such as exposed beams and exposed stone walls.
