3 Components of Life in Hilleboe 2013-‐2014
The Green Residence Hall Project is meant to start an ecological revolution – one that calls students to think about the moral ecology of their everyday actions and develop a sense of place. It asks them to challenge preconceived notions of basic, everyday functions, think critically about systems that we live within, and maybe even change those systems. This experience will be unlike any other residence hall experience. We want to build a community centered on intentionality, sustainability, and engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to build a meaningful community where students can learn, flourish, and have a great time.
#2 Attend four environmental programming activities each
semester.
The idea behind sustainability is not that it’s one more
commitment to make, but rather a way of life. The
SustainAbilities program offers a diverse selection of events to prepare Oles to live sustainably
both on campus and off-‐campus. You are welcome to
suggest events to your SustainAbilities Representative!
As residents of Hilleboe, we pledge to …
R E D U C E There are three core expectations for Hilleboe residents:
#1 Willingness to engage in meaningful
conversation
Living in community with other sustainability-‐
minded peers gives you the opportunity to create a community unlike in any other residence hall on campus. This is a one-‐of-‐a-‐kind living experience –
take advantage of it!
#3 Green Room Certification by September 30th, 2013
Certification encourages you to consider simple ways to
change your habits. Through this process, you show a commitment to a more
sustainable lifestyle. Ask your representative about the
certification process, and keep considering ways to reduce!
