What is Fire Risk Assessment ?

Fire Risk Assessment is overall process of identifying fire hazards and evaluating the risks to Health and Safety (of the people & property) arising from them, taking account of existing risk controls (or in case of new activity, the proposed risk controls).

Scope, Methodology & Standards

Scope of Fire Risk Assessment includes :

• Identification & assessment of fire risks• Identification & control of ignition sources in areas• Review of fire detection measures adopted in the facility & to suggest suitable

improvement measures • Review of the various active (fire hydrant, sprinkler, portable fire extinguishers)

and passive fire protection requirements and to suggest improvements as necessary.

• Review of safety awareness and safety training requirements ( training identification and efficacy) of employees with respect to hazards present in the facility and emergency preparedness including On-site Emergency Plan/Disaster Management Plan.
