• There were 12 Olympians. They were each chief gods of the Greek Pantheon. Their names were Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, and Artemis. Zeus led his siblings to win in War against the Titans.

The Titans

• The 12 Titan gods (elder gods) ruled the Earth before the Olympians. Then one day the Olympians overthrew them.

• The ruler of the Titans was Cronus. His son was Zeus. Zeus removed Cronus.

Hyperion and Theia,Coeus and Phoebe,Cronus and Rhea,Mnemosyne, Themis,Crius, Iapetus

• The Venus De Milo is the best model of a Women’s body.

• It is the most famous Greek Sculpture.• It was created around 130 and 120 BC.• It measures at about 6.7 feet. • Its arms and plinth have been lost so it makes

it a mystery.

• It is a third century BC sculpture. • It is the most celebrated sculpture in the

world. • It is famous because of its naturalistic pose.

3: Laocoon and His Sons

• It is a marble sculpture.• The statute is attributed by a Roman Author.

His name is Pliny The Elder. • A nickname for this sculpture is the Laocoon

Group.

4: Bronze Sculpture

• This sculpture is supposedly Zeus. It was created around 460 BC.

• It is a classic sculpture. • It was found by some fisherman. They were

fishing one day and it got caught in their net. • The measurement of the sculpture is 2 meters

in height.

• Diadumenos is the most famous figural types.• Diadumenos means diadem-bear. • It represents young men in a naturalistic

manner.

• This statue is a Roman Variant of Kinidian Aphrodite.

• There was a relationship between Praxiteles (the sculptor) and his model. His models name was Thespian Phryne.

• This statue was created in the fourth century BC.

• It is located in Athens.• It was found in the sea and was sculpted in

325 – 300 BCE.

• It is housed at the National Archeological Museums in Athens.

• This statue was mostly distinguished by his winged sandals.

9: The Charioteer of Delphi

• This is the greatest surviving works of Greek Sculpture. Dating from around 470 BC.

• This statue is an early classical style.

• The sculptor was mostly focused on the body.
