Interfraternity Council
Our purpose is to govern the member fraternities, to promote intellectual, philanthropic, fraternal and social values of the fraternities at East Carolina
University, and to maintain cooperation between these fraternities, their respective national headquarters, alumnus, the surrounding community, and the East
Carolina University.

National Pan-Hellenic Council “Where there is unity, there is strength”
Our purpose is to create and maintain high standards in the life and ideas of fraternities and sororities;
to perpetuate constructive fraternity and sorority relationships; to foster an understanding of the structure and method
of operation among the affiliate organizations; to address, coordinate, and develop action strategies
on matters of mutual concern to the affiliate organizations; to provide leadership training for its constituents.

National Pan-Hellenic Council • A governing body for the nine historically African-American fraternities and
sororities at East Carolina University. • NPHC has been a major source of change on the national level. • Basic requirements for joining any NPHC organization: – Must be a full-time student (enrolled in at least 12 hours in fall/spring
semester) – Have a 2.5 cumulative G.P.A.
