greatest lesson

Greatest lesson An apprentice in his ambitious journey, Has traversed lands low and high, For years crossed waters of deepest depths, To seek the greatest knowledge. In this seemingly endless trip, Finally, he finds a resting place --- Now, his curiosity begins to wonder What this search really meant to be. One time, as the sun shines at dawn, The stars shy away their little light, And the moon bows its silver head, As the rays chase the shadowy skies. Upon seeing this, he closes his eyes Then in bold wonder, asks himself, ‘Does the brilliance of this fiery sun During the day makes others dim their own?’ Just like how the birds and the clouds Soaring parallel to the blowing wind, Seem to glide the heavens all the same When viewed up from the surface. One’s light shines from within oneself And is reflected by the other, not taken away --- To see one’s radiance is the key to reality Being is itself existence and identity. No matter how different one may seem, Commonality is present just as similarly, Eyes taking in but reflected light easily blind, And life’s greatest lesson is found behind.

Greatest lesson

An apprentice in his ambitious journey,Has traversed lands low and high,For years crossed waters of deepest depths,

To seek the greatest knowledge.

In this seemingly endless trip,

Finally, he finds a resting place ---Now, his curiosity begins to wonder

What this search really meant to be.

One time, as the sun shines at dawn,The stars shy away their little light,

And the moon bows its silver head,

As the rays chase the shadowy skies.Upon seeing this, he closes his eyes

Then in bold wonder, asks himself,Does the brilliance of this fiery sun

During the day makes others dim their own?

Just like how the birds and the clouds Soaring parallel to the blowing wind,Seem to glide the heavens all the same

When viewed up from the surface.

Ones light shines from within oneself

And is reflected by the other, not taken away ---To see ones radiance is the key to reality

Being is itself existence and identity.

No matter how different one may seem,

Commonality is present just as similarly,

Eyes taking in but reflected light easily blind,

And lifes greatest lesson is found behind.
