Flying to thousands more destinations than any airline, MAF is aChristian organisation operating light aircraft in developing countries sothat people in remote areas can receive essential help.

Today, countless men, women and children remain cut off by difficult or

dangerous terrain, deprived of basic necessities for a full and healthy life. Our planes enable those who are bring vital medical, relief anddevelopment services, as well as hope and love to people. We work in closepartnership with indigenous groups, national churches, governmentdepartments, missions, local aid workers and international aid agencies.

Every three minutes, an MAF plane is taking off or landing. Over 135aircraft at work in more than 35 countries speed physical and spiritualcare and hope to those living in isolation.

If you want to get involved with MAF then Above and Beyond is the way togo. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and do all those old fashioned

things like answer the phone and meet face to face too.

Please contact us to discuss our future events, ways that you can supportMAF or if you would like someone from Above and Beyond to come and

speak at you church we do all that too. “Because we prepared the airstrip and MAF is coming, other agencies have come to work

here – Tearfund and UNICEF. No one would travel on the roads now.”

Simon Nangiro, Oxfam, Uganda

“MAF is awesome – we couldn’t do this without you guys!”

Ruth Creber, Medair Emergency Response Team, South Sudan

 Online fundraising hints and

tips

1. Personalise your message The best fundraising pages tell a really goodstory. Let people know why you're going to the trouble of raising money, and they're much more likely to take the time to donate. Explain why MAF

deserves support and what a difference it makes.2. Add photos and video A personal photo makes your page much more

engaging. Even better — add your own Flickr photos and YouTube video. It

gives you lots of scope to be funny, imaginative and compelling and gives your supporters a good reason to send your page on to their friends. Youcould also promote the site on your Twitter or Facebook pages!3. Tell everyone about your page Before you email your entire addressbook, ask your closest friends and family to donate first. An empty page canbe a bit intimidating, so having a couple of donations on the page shouldencourage other sponsors. People tend to match the amounts already listedon the page, so if they’re generous ones, all the better!

4. Publicise your page You can also share your page on Facebook with theJust giving Facebook app, and on your blogs and websites with the just

giving widget or badges. Ask your company if they’ll link to your page fromtheir website or intranet. Do this by going to your Facebook page and searchfor Justgiving in the search box. After that follow the steps to complete yourlinks.

5. Put a link in your email signature Add your page's web address to youremail signature. That way, every email you send raises awareness of yourfundraising and attracts more donations.6. Keep your page up-to-date Post regular updates on your progress and

upload new photos. It gives people a reason to come back to your page andencourages them to donate again or to send your page on to their friends.

7. Send a follow-up email Be persistent. It takes more than one round of emails to reach your target. You know what it's like - people mean to donate, but sometimes they don't quite get round to it on the first request.Remember to thank the people who've already supported you, and to askthem to send your page to their contacts
