JOHN 1: 1-3, 14 (THE WORD =JESUS)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made…. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

JESUS = GOD

Jesus is the second Person of the Trinity“but of the Son he* says, ‘Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and a righteous scepter is the scepter of your kingdom.’” Heb. 1:8(this is a quote from Ps. 45:6)

JESUS = GOD

Thomas replied to him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28

JESUS = GOD

To them [the Jews] belong the patriarchs, and from them, by human descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever! Amen.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened this way. While his mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 

Matt. 1:18

Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory – the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father

John 1:14

JESUS = HUMAN

After he fasted forty days and forty nights he was famished.

KENOSIS : “TO EMPTY”Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well. You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had, who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature. He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!  Phil 2:4-8

THE RESURRECTION

•The Bible does not seek to offer proofs of the Resurrection, it just states it.• I am going to assume that Jesus was raised from the dead after His execution.•Remember, this is the same way the Biblr treats the existence of God.

There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you.

For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands – the representation of the true sanctuary – but into heaven itself, and he appears now in God’s presence for us.

Ok, so what if He’s not?

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty.

WHY WILL HE RETURN?

During His earthly ministry, Jesus declared that He had even greater works to do in the future:1. the raising of the dead2. the passing of final judgment. To raise the dead and to judge the world are prerogatives of God, but He delegated these works to His Son. 

THE RETURN

For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord,  that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 1Thes. 4:15-6

THE RETURN

Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone…”

Jude 1:14
