country. S ushi King chief executive officer said that 23 per cent of their stock
originated from Japan. S o, they are now looking for the items from another

International rescue teams have been helpingsearch for survivors in the coastal city of Ofunato in Iwate prefecture (above).
The BBC's Gavin Lee is with the British team inOfunato. The city was one of the closest to theepicentre of the earthquake and was also hit bythe tsunami.
Our correspondent reported seeing ships on topof houses and hundreds of vehicles, including aschool bus, in piles of debris.
INTERNATIONAL HELP The British rescue team has been sent toOfunato along with teams from the U S andChina.
It is made up of 59 fire service search and rescue specialists, two rescue dogs and amedical support team of four.Rescuing people after a tsunami is particularly difficultbecause buildings in which people may be trapped are damaged by the wave coming inand going out and also by being hit by debris such as vehicles and other houses.
Gavin Lee says that particular damage has been caused by wood from a timber yardcrashing into buildings.
DOG TEAMS The first job for the rescuers is to divide the area that they are searching into a grid andthen systematically search the area with sniffer dogs.
The dogs help to narrow down the search by identifying buildings in which there may besurvivors or bodies. This particular dog is from a U S search and rescue team, which isusually based in Virginia.

LISTENING EQUIPMENT
Once they have narrowed their search, the teamsuse listening equipment and heat imaging devicesto help them locate any survivors in the rubble.
This team preparing its equipment is from China.
S ome of the lower-lying areas of the city have been flattened, but it is hoped that themany higher buildings that have remained standing will yield some survivors.
The British team has brought 11 tonnes of equipment, including devices for heavy liftingand cutting.
BIG JOB
Gavin Lee says that the rescue teams describedOfunato as being the biggest job they had seen.
The volunteers travel at very short notice to naturaldisasters around the world.
While there have been some people rescued alive elsewhere in Japan, so far inOfunato the British team has only recovered bodies.

I have learnt a lot of things from this English Language Proficiency short
coursework. Firstly, when Im searching for the articles everywhere, but hard for me to
get one. But at last I found one in the newspaper, New S traits Times on March 19.
Besides that, I also read many articles and current issues when I search from internet.
Apart from that, I learn to communicate with many persons in effort to ask them
about the coursework. I also spent my time in library to find the vocabulary of the word
that I didnt understand. I also used that precious time in the library to find the meaningof the word that I found hard to understand.
Besides, from this coursework, I realize that Englis is not something to be
mastered just to pass exams, but it is something to be applied in our daily lives and this
coursework give me chance to think creative when I design the graphic organisers. On
top of that, I could see how the right way to write a summary by applying the method
that my lecturer teach. I used the method 5W 1H in my summary. 5W means, what,
when, why, where, who, and 1H means how.
