GRAPES Exclusively from estate-owned old vines over 70 years old. Bush trained and picked by hand. GRAPE VARIETIES 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo. VINIFICATION Traditional winemaking that entails ageing the two varieties separately in American oak barrels for twelve months. e wines are then blended and returned to the barrels, where they spend another six months. Aſter ageing, the wine is leſt for 12 months in steel tanks, where it is further refined, and then it is ready for bottling. TASTING NOTES A cherry red wine of great depth. Good glyceric density, with gentle legs sliding down the sides of the glass, giving an indication of its great volume. Elegant aromas of liquorice, with ripe fruit, and spicy, pepper aromas, underscored by minty notes and a light mineral touch. Fine, elegant, silky tannins in the mouth, with good acidity to balance the palate. e sensations of fruit and spices remain for a long time. A Classic Rioja that beautifully reflects the benefits of one of the best vintages of the 21st century. DRINKING TEMP. AND PAIRING Preferably drink at 16-18 °C.
