The Spetzler Fund Addresses the broad needs of educational, child welfare and social

opportunity programs. Geographical Areas: Cities of Roanoke and Salem and Roanoke County Typical Grant Size: $2,000-$5,000

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Fund Addresses the broad needs of children from prenatal care until their

sixth birthday. Geographical Areas: Cities of Roanoke and Salem and Roanoke County Typical Grant Size: $3,000-$6,000

Phalia M. and Guy M. Kinder Fund Supports agencies which are effective and efficient in preventing cruelty

to animals; research and medical advancement for the cure of disease in animals; professional education of animal caretakers, and programs which promote the positive relationship between humans and animals.

Geographical Areas: Counties of Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin and Roanoke and the Cities of Roanoke and Salem

Larry Woodrow Vest Fund Provides support to charitable organizations in Floyd County that serve

its residents. Geographical Areas: Floyd County Typical Grant Size: $3,000-$20,000

Frances Parker Rupert Memorial Fund for Music and the Performing Arts Supports a wide range of qualified charitable organizations which work in

the fields of music and/or the performing arts. Geographical Areas: Alleghany, Bath County, Covington and Clifton Forge Typical Grant Size: $500-$1,000

Thomas P. and Lewise S. Parsley Fund Supports agencies that address prescription medications for the elderly,

community outreach programs addressing substance abuse, community outreach programs that address home health services for financially needy individuals & families when they can no longer manage alone.

Geographical Areas: Counties of Alleghany, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin and Roanoke and the Cities of Roanoke and Salem

Special Interest Grants Funds available – Fund for Eldercare, Mary Louise Home Fund, and

The Earl D. and Carrie Leigh Doran Fund Agencies will be notified via constant contact when Fund is available Request must be for a current program and fit within the area of

interest Required to make a 15-20 minute presentation Foundation Staff will then notify agencies with an invitation to apply

for funding. Grants range from $30,000 to $100,000+ Timeline:

Fund for Eldercare/Mary Louise Home Fund November - Presentations held December- Application deadline January -Grant announcements made

The Earl D. and Carrie Leigh Doran Fund February - Presentations held March - Application deadline April - Grant announcements made

SPECIAL INTEREST GRANTS

Mary Louise Home Fund For the support and care of elderly indigent residents of

the Roanoke Valley.

Marion S. and Willie Z. Camp Fund for Eldercare To address the needs of the elderly in the Roanoke Valley.

The Earl D. and Carrie Leigh Doran Fund To help individuals and families who are confronting

catastrophic, life-altering circumstances and also supports agencies which provide shelter, care, and assistance to battered women.
