The American Cancer Society holds its “Great American Smokeout” on the third Thursday of each November. This year’s Smokeouts falls on Nov. 20. It’s a day tobacco users are encouraged to make a plan

to quit, or begin an attempt to quit. Quitting – even for just a day – is an important first step tobacco users can take toward leading a healthier life.

To help mark the occasion, and to show tobacco users where they can go to find resources to quit, we’ve created the following materials for use by your organization, and in partnership with employers in your community. They’re designed to connect tobacco users that would like to quit with free, helpful resources available at TobaccoFreeCO.org, including the Tobacco Quit and $ave app, the Colorado QuitLine and Colorado Quit Mobile, a text message-based program that offers instant support and coaching to deal with tobacco cravings.

These materials range from posters and social media images that can be used leading up to and during the “Great American Smokeout,” to high-quality ground decals for outdoor smoking areas - that encourage smokers to “Bench the Addiction.” We’re hopeful the ground decals featuring the TobaccoFreeCO.org url can remain in place for months to come.

Combined, we believe these materials will connect tobacco users with a variety of free resources to help them quit for good.
