Our Angus herd started with the purchase of 5 open heifers from the Don Wood herd. Since then we have added females from several sales with some great

females coming from the Diamond B dispersal, Coldstream dispersal, Justamere dispersal and Rivercrest dispersal. Since that time we have grown the cow families

that have worked and culled the ones that have not.

Although we do some AI in our Angus females, I strongly believe in having the best walking herd bull we can find. This has led us to our past walking herd bulls; Don Wood Tarzan, DBRL Right Time, Coldstream Paradox, all bulls that will continue to

have influence in our cow herd through their daughters. Our current herd bulls; Sandy Bar Ambush, Duralta 307R Upward 49Y, and our newest bull LNS Trojan.

These are the bulls that we will be using extensively into the future.

The majority of our Angus bulls this year are sired by the new sensation Duralta 307R Upward 49Y, a bull we purchased as high seller at the 2012 Duralta sale

for 2/3 interest for $15,500 along with Diamond B Ranch. We were immediately attracted to this bull as he is a performance bull with just a 71 pound birth weight,

and great EPD’s.

His dam, 74T was high selling heifer calf at Sandy Bar Bull sale in 2008 purchased by Diamond B Ranch. We purchased her as high selling female at the record setting Diamond B dispersal sale, where her daughter was second high seller to Bar-E-L, she is now a donor female. 74T consistently produces low BW, moderate, long calves that are at the top of the pen. 8A is her first son and what a job she has done. 8A will be a calving ease bull with lots of performance while leaving top quality replacement females.

A true sale feature performance bull. 18A was the heaviest weaned bull in the pen. Length of spine, width of top, depth of rib, width and depth of quarter. Long shaggy hair, large testicles, quiet temperament, all on a large strong foot. His dam came from the Diamond B dispersal where she was our pick of the bred heifers and sired by HF Alaskan. This female is destined to be in our flush program as she is consistently producing top end calves. Our Simmental cow herd is small in size but high in quality. We started by purchasing embryos from proven females and searched for foundation females that we purchased through various sales. Some of these females have since joined our own donor program. We strive to produce Homo polled bulls, with performance

and predictability.

We start off our Simmental bulls with an embryo calf by Voyager that has it all. I believe he is the best Simmental bull we have raised. We sold a full sister to him

at The Source Simmental sale to Double Bar D Farms. We have two more full sisters at the top of our replacement pen.

The majority of our Simmental offering is sired by our black walking herd bull New Edition. They are long made, easy calving bulls that have lots of hair. We are calving our first New Edition daughters, and are very excited about their future.
