About us
Granny’s Clothes is a non-profit organization founded by a group of teenagers in 2010 with the aim to be green, and at the same time be fashionable. With supports from the industry and fellow designers, we have evolved to a key platform to show ideas and experiences through organiz-ing greener fashion events such as exhibitions and work-shops. And we provide retro fashion advices to the par-ticipants. Besides, a group of successful and enthusiastic local fashion designers joined our Design Promotion Team to form a new design force to better our organization for the future. Over ten of them are well-established design-ers with 5 years outstanding solid fashion design back-grounds who would like to make an effort to our planet.Chairman Kevin MaVice Chairman Betty TamPublic Relations Manage Fafa WongEvent Coordinator Kayla Tam Administration Officer Angela WongDesign Promotion Manager Joanna Kong
Achievements in 2010Granny’s Fashion Talk: A 1960s Fashion Afternoon was an awareness-raising campaign hosted by Gran-ny’s Clothes that aims to promote sustainable cloth-ing and the possibility of transforming old fashions into new ones. The afternoon featured a talk by Maria Kim, Professor of Fashion and Textile Studies from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The talk started off by introducing Granny’s Clothes to the participants and its aims and missions. The rest of the afternoon commenced with a talk from Maria, who stands at the forefront of vintage fashion, with a showcase of exquisite vintage and ethical designer looks, modeled by beautiful and unique women of all ages. Some 1960’s fash-ion items were displayed on the counters outside the hall. Participants were allowed to witness the exquisite retro collections of the era.

In the year of 2011, there will be three up- coming events in order to reach a wider audience. The theme is ‘Say Yes To Granny’s Clothes’. The first highlight will be a recycled clothing flea market. Public are expected to learn the retro fashion and be-ing green in fashion through recycling and reusing their second- hand clothes. A proposed exhibition will display hundreds of masterpieces with a specific theme designed by renowned local designers. After the exhibition, a work-shop will be held for those interested in vintage fabrics.
