1. The area is fairly a level land in the southern part and hilly with steep southern slopes in the northern part
2. Currently some granite quarrying (probably illicit) activity is going on in the area examined
3. Geologically the southern slopes reaching the plains consist of granites and the upper slopes of the hills consist of
sandstones dipping northerly at low angles.
4. The granite is exposed as huge bouldery outcrops.
5. The granite is medium to coarse grained with fairly good uniformity of grains, though bigger grains of pink feldspars,
quartz and dark clusters do occur here and there.
6. There are many colour variants in granites. The main colour variants are dark pink (red) granites and slightly light
coloured granites. Both consist of pink feldspars, white feldspars, quartz, amphiboles and opaque minerals
(probably magnetite) as observed with a hand lens. The dark pink (red) variety has red feldspars with a little bit of
white feldspars that imparts red colour to the granite. The light coloured granite has both pink and white feldspars
in almost equal proportions that impart a light colour to the rock. Besides there are variants with light coloured
feldspars dominating over pink feldspars that imparts a much lighter colour to the rock. No micas are seen (absence
of mica is advantageous from the commercial point of view)
7. The granite takes excellent polish
8. Sandstone Granite can be used for glass manufacturing and used for sand mining also.
9. There are other six colors also found in that three colors are export quality granites.
