INT. HARRY LAVEYS BEDROOM
In a typical South London bedroom late in the evening, September 1939, Harry Lavey
is lying in bed drifting off to sleep. The moonlight is streaming through the window. The camera cross fades between Harry and pictures on his bed side cabinet of his

The bomb doors open with a rumble. The Lancaster tingles with vibrations. Officer
Lavey senses a terrific draught but is not distracted from his duty to the rest of the
crew.
The Lancaster is surrounded by flack and machine gun fire. The bomb aimer calls out
Left, Left, Steady. The crew hold their breathe. An exultant Bomb Gone!
ANGLE: BOMB LEAVING THE FUSELAGE
Time slows as the bomb falls away. Flack hits and explodes the 2 tonne blockbuster
mid-air. A brilliant white light engulfs the rear turret cabin.
