Elk Grove, IL April 16, 2008. Miller Industrial, a family-owned industrial supplier, will kick off a
Grand Re-Opening celebration to thank its customers, vendors and team members for 80 years of
successful business growth. In addition to celebrating its eightieth birthday, Miller will unveil the
completion of its 15,000 square foot retail and warehouse expansion which offers customers a
greater inventory selection, new signage and wider aisles.
During the month of May, Miller will be thanking its customers with a sports-themed
celebration. No matter whether it’s the Kentucky Derby, PGA Golf or NASCAR, Miller will
welcome its customers every Tuesday in May with a free customer lunch and ask them to take a
chance or test their skills mimicking an upcoming major sporting event. For example, on April 29th,
Miller Industrial will offer customers a free sandwich along with a chance to pick a horse to win,
place or show in the Kentucky Derby held on Monday May 3, 2008. Those with winning tickets
will get special discounts. In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, Miller Industrial will offer Mexican
fare on Monday May 5th, and have fun watching customers kick a soccer ball into a net for a chance
to win Chicago Fire tickets.

In addition to its customer appreciation lunches, Miller Industrial will also be offering free
in-store vendor product seminars on Wednesdays so customers can meet with vendor
representatives, ask questions and learn more about featured products. Miller Industrial plans to
culminate the month-long celebration on Thursday, May 29th with an All-Star event. The after-
hours, invitation-only party is designed to thank Miller team members, customers and vendors who
have contributed to their growth. Miller will be auctioning off eight grand prizes, (one for each
decade), with the proceeds going to Children’s Memorial Network. In fact, President Jeff Miller
will be cycling 350 miles from Chicago to St. Louis in September as part of Ace Hardware’s
National Children’s Memorial Network event and will raise an additional $3500.00 for the cause.
“We really wanted to get our customers into our newly expanded store and celebrate our eightieth
birthday and of course have some fun too.” said company president, Jeff Miller. “They have done so
much for us over the years; we wanted to give them something back as well.”
About: Sam Miller, a 26-year-old Russian immigrant, founded Vincennes Hardware in 1928 on the
south side of Chicago and joined the Ace Hardware buying cooperative in 1953. Sam’s son Bob
Miller expanded the business to Elk Grove in 1969 with a large hardware store that catered to both
homeowners and businesses from the greater O’Hare area. In 1995, Jeff Miller bought the company
from his father, and renamed it Miller Industrial to reflect its long family history. Today he runs the
company with his sister, Sally Schumann, and a 30 member team. The organization has evolved
from its consumer retail hardware roots to focus on commercial/industrial sales. For additional
