Master Data Management Consistent and good quality master data is the key to the efficiency of a business’ supply chain processes. Although many businesses look for a technological solution to master data integrity, that is only one of the answers, the other is proper planning and governance. With a rush of mergers and acquisitions in the past couple of years, inconsistencies in master data have been exacerbated. Companies need to understand how an upcoming merger will affect their master data; who will have governance over the master data and decide upon a standardised data input; balancing the difference between ownership and governance; streamlining and optimisation to reduce lag time and improve efficiency; dealing with ever-changing data; mapping master data between companies and vendors in order to guarantee effective communication and data exchange; recognising the benefits and pitfalls of centralised governance; engaging internal and external users and driving cultural change; adopting an end-to-end training process; what about technology? consider whether implementing Adobe Forms can standardise input; have you looked at portal iViews? SAP’s MDM solution? or assessed third party certified solutions?

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Processes A properly implemented S&OP process routinely reviews customer demand and supply, resources and “re-plans” quantitatively across an agreed rolling horizon. Getting sales and operations to work collaboratively is often vastly easier in theory than practice. There are a number of strategies that companies can employ to make sure everyone is working from the same page. Whether companies can use KPIs and accountability for sales employees, or link S&OP to the financial management plan, they need to use initiative to achieve accurate planning and forecasting; SAP BusinessObjects tools alongside APO and SAP ERP to help manage the S&OP process; which SAP BusinessObjects tools to use when? the importance of equal focus on people, process and tools in your planning philosophy; change management challenges; understanding APO Supply Network Planning, Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) and Global Available to Promise (GATP)- and understanding how well they are integrated with SAP inventory management systems

Planning & Forecasting Successful demand planning and forecasting requires accurate and timely information and sophisticated tools. SAP has a number of products available to assist in this, but it is essential for companies to match the tool to their business situation. Using your historical sales data and identifying key trends in the business; identifying the appropriate forecasting algorithm; incorporating all necessary demand information into the system; consider how the SAP ‘Alert Monitor’, SAP’s Demand Planning (DP) functionality and APO might assist in your planning and forecasting; integrating these tools into ECC; what is the next step after APO and DP?

Reporting Extracting data from your system and monitoring the performance of your supply chain processes is an absolutely invaluable business tool. But with information stored in disparate areas in unrelated formats, achieving accurate reporting can be a minefield. Using the most appropriate standard SAP Reporting and SAP BusinessObjects tools can provide powerful, robust and meaningful information. Engaging users to get real value from reports; standardising reports across a business and getting a consistent look and feel front end; integrating supply chain data from third party tools to extend reporting capabilities - accessing and merging this data with your SAP data; defining supply chain KPIs - learning what to measure and what to do with the results; using reports to assist in your S&OP process

Inventory Management With an accurate inventory system, companies can cut costs, prevent erratic stock levels and properly record and track the flow of materials. SAP offers a number of tools in this area to assist on delivering on customer commitments without carrying excess inventory. How can you get the most out of your system with standard tools and reports? And how can using the exception monitor and KPI functionalities improve your processes? Cultural and technical steps to make Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) work in any sized operation - simultaneously planning manufacturing activities, forecasting delivery schedules and purchasing activities; integrating other stock types such as consignment stock into a company ‘s inventory; properly integrating inventory management into other parts of your SAP system

Contract Management SAP offers a suite of contract management tools ranging from the simple use of outline agreements to execute agreed pricing to the full use of E-Sourcing to assist in sophisticated strategic sourcing projects. Businesses need to match their level of procurement maturity with the appropriate contract execution tools from SAP; understanding where you are and where you are heading in your procurement journey to select the optimum contract management tools to support that position; implementing an integrated contract management solution; comparing the capabilities of E-Sourcing, SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), SAP Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and even the Materials Management (MM) purchasing module of SAP ERP for your enterprise contract management; integration points for each tool; the use of outline agreements as service contracts and for vendor evaluation

E-Business and B2B The past decade has seen much activity in the E-Business and B2B spaces, particularly impacting sourcing and procurement. Many companies are realising the benefits of supplier enablement solutions using paperless data exchange and process automation. Choosing the right E-Business solution for your business - are solutions industry specific? mitigating the potential business risk of integration; examining the capabilities of SAP’s Supplier Self Service (SUS) and Supplier Network Collaboration (SNC) tools; integrating these tools into the system; consider how to integrate your order, delivery and invoice documents electronically with your suppliers to deliver business benefits; using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology for paper documents; dealing with missing information; the journey necessary to manage all stakeholders during and after implementing such tools

System Integration and Standardisation Through the Global Financial Crisis there has been a rush of acquisition activity which has forced many companies to merge a number of disparate sites and systems into one. Do you really have an appreciation of how an M&A will affect your supply chain? How to create a global process and governance model endorsed by the business; controlling global model enhancements; change management challenges and solutions; getting every business unit’s buy-in; integrating planning between business units and the associated technology platform

Sourcing Solutions Many companies are interested in the advantages that a sourcing solution might provide. SAP presently markets three different solutions that touch upon various aspects of procurement processes. While SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), E-Sourcing and the ERP Materials Management (MM) purchasing module provide many similar features, they also provide markedly different capabilities. Understanding the basic features, functions and footprint; what can each tool do? what can’t they do? Matching a solution to your business requirements and identifying a business case for these technology enhancements

Business Culture Engaging your company in your implementation and systems strategy is absolutely key to any new supply chain system or process. Achieving sleek change management; securing buy-in and installing a sense of ownership in the business and users; building the right team from internal and external sources; implementing an end-to-end training program; updating training materials and making them easily accessible; gaining acceptance from newly incorporated business units after a merger or acquisition; sustaining compliance within the team; engaging the higher echelons of management in your systems and supply chain strategy; creating a fool-proof business case; ‘selling’ the concept and demonstrating Return on Investment (ROI)

Services Procurement There is significant value available to businesses that run robust service procurement processes; evaluating new ways of managing service procurement from the ground up; achieving a simplified user experience and improved process, spend and contract compliance; improving safety performance and reducing costs; collaboration between Procurement, HR and HSE business functions; process integration and performance using recent innovations in ‘cloud computing’; consider using customised outline agreements for service contracts; engaging end users’ influence over both purchasing behaviour and safety performance

Warehouse Management Warehouse management is absolutely crucial to the efficiency of a supply chain. With a proper management system, businesses can cut down on warehouse costs, respond more quickly to demand and provide accurate inventory levels. Examine how SAP’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) can drive your inventory accuracy; consider how technologies like voice picking can improve your warehouse efficiency; achieving almost 100% accuracy with solutions based on inexpensive wireless IP telephones and network-centric speech technologies; achieving seamless integration with SAP ERP; getting key users on board and the role that ergonomics can play in usability

Transportation Transportation is an often expensive, labour intensive and emissions heavy aspect of a company’s supply chain. There are a number of technologies available to assist companies in optimising their transportation systems, providing world class customer service, optimising labour and assets, reducing natural resource consumption and providing employees with a productive and realistic working day; consider Strategic Route Optimisation and Vehicle Space Optimisation solutions; integrating and embedding these technologies into SAP ERP

Rotables and Repairables The ongoing push to increased asset performance at a lower cost is driving a growing need to define and manage rotables (individual repairable items) and repairables (families of repairable items) and track their usage, performance and costs over time. How SAP functional elements are used in orchestra to represent, plan, execute and manage a holistic rotable and repairable management solution; rotable and repairable data representation; production engineering of maintenance tasks; rotable and repairable maintenance planning using SAP’s Inspector’s Workbench; rotable and repairable maintenance execution; rotable and repairable induction in service organisations

Strategic Supply Chain Topics

Business Alignment and EducationUnderstanding how your supply chain really works; considering your contemporary business model post-GFC; finding new ways of responding to customers with your supply chain; examining the ‘dynamic alignment’ model; selecting, nurturing and supporting your people; ensuring you have competent and professional staff acting in accordance with the company’s values, culture and protocols; strategic recruitment - considering non-procurement people for your team; internal development plans; documented processes and guidelines; creating leadership roles; achieving connectivity with other departments within the organisation

This section of the program looks at the bigger picture issues facing supply chain managers and teams.

Positioning business for future growth and globalisation is a must and the following presentations will address these strategic topics:

• It’s Not All About Systems - Selecting, Nurturing and Supporting Your People

• A New Business Model for the Challenging New Times Ahead

• Standardisation and Governance: Driving Business Value

• Selling the Proposition of Procurement Beyond Just Reducing Costs - Into Delivering Higher Value and Generating Revenue

• Re-Aligning Your Business with the Marketplace to Survive the Recession and Beyond

• Sustainable Supply - Includes Local Communities

Selling Supply ChainOne of the biggest challenges facing supply chain professionals is getting management to understand the importance of the discipline. Starting with a self-awareness of the value of supply chain, we must be almost like marketers in our approach to selling the concept and the importance of supply chain. In order to take the larger transformational steps to refocusing the way a supply chain department works, supply chain executives need this stakeholder engagement from the higher echelons of management within any company; creating an incentive of Return on Investment (ROI) for the business; exploring all commercial opportunities; using the SAP reporting functionality to support the initiatives; constantly refreshing the pipeline of ideas for the future

Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Sustainability is fast becoming a top priority for businesses in Australia and around the globe. This change is not only driven by compliance, but most importantly by the customers themselves. Understanding the value of actively managing local supply chains and improved engagement of local suppliers; managing spend and being cognisant of the impact on local communities around the globe; techniques to actively engage with local suppliers; harnessing paperless and emissions control systems within the supply chain

Augmenting the SAP-centric topics, an exciting addition to this year’s program are ‘big picture’ topics dealing with Business Alignment and Education, Selling Supply Chain, and Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility.

Executive Chairman, Gattorna Alignment Pty LtdKeynote Presentation: A New Business Model for the Challenging New Times AheadWorkshop: Re-Aligning Your Business with the Marketplace to Survive the Recession and BeyondDr John Gattorna has been working in and around corporate logistics networks and supply chains for over two decades. In the late 80s, disenchanted with the lack of predictive power in the logistics theories and practices of the day, he set out to find a new business model that would better inform the design and operation of enterprise supply chains. It has taken a lot of field work to uncover the secret source he was looking for, but the results of this journey are fully documented in his latest book, ‘Dynamic Supply Chains’. John is one of the most influential contemporary ‘thought leaders’ working in the supply chain domain and many of the best global companies have begun to adopt his ‘dynamic alignment’ model, with significant positive results: a doubling of margins; big increases in sales revenue through increased customer satisfaction; lower cost-to-serve across the board as a result of identifying and eliminating unnecessary over-servicing.

Sunday 12th SeptemberPre-Conference JumpStart Session: It’s Not All About Systems - Selecting, Nurturing and Supporting Your People

Although from vastly different industries, as internal service providers the supply chain and procurement teams at Royal Mail (UK) and Rio Tinto (Australia/Global) are both very conscious of meeting the needs and demands of their customers. This includes ensuring that they have competent professional staff that act in accordance with their values, culture and protocols and that they are capable of managing their customer engagement and relationships effectively.

Some of the things these two organisations have done towards this are:

• Viewed procurement as a skill/method which can be taught and focusing on the type of person brought in

• Focused recruiting 50% of the team from outside of a procurement background - a large number from outside the organisation completely. Non supply chain or procurement people ‘test’ the status quo and inject new ideas

• Internal development program in conjunction with CIPSA where staff can study towards formal qualifications with the companies’ support and funding

• Documented and published processes that global staff can follow - to deliver a consistent service and approach - developing eLearning modules, process documentation and built process requirements into the systems

• Consulted customers and identified improvement opportunities for their services - this has resulted in a great deal of effort and improvements in stakeholder engagement and communications approach - in particular around the way they manage contracts and involve and inform the stakeholders on contract performance & key events

• Create leadership roles that focus on managing the relationship and delivering the services to their customers

• Internal team members from within the business but outside of the procurement or supply chain function, know the organisation and have great connectivity with stakeholders in other departments - a must

Join Daniel Cameron (Royal Mail Limited) & Steve Mardon (Rio Tinto Procurement) in an interactive hour long discussion about some of these initiatives that they and their organisations have put in place in order to attract, retain and develop their people. The session will encourage discussion and audience participation, so please bring along your ideas and questions, ready to get involved.

How to Evaluate and Choose the Right SAP Procurement Solution

SAP presently markets three different solutions that touch upon various aspects of procurement processes. While SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), E-Sourcing and the ERP Materials Management (MM) Purchasing module provide many similar features, they also provide markedly different capabilities. Come to understand these similarities and differences from an unbiased third party perspective.

• Gain a high level understanding of the basic features, functions and footprint of SAP SRM, SAP E-Sourcing and SAP ERP Materials Management (MM) purchasing module

- What is it?

- What can it do and not do?

- What does it do well and not so well?

• Explore the similarities of each solution

• Discover the limitations of each solution

• Understand which solution is best for your organisation

Automating Employee-Facing Transactions in the Supply Chain

Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) was the first to deploy a VoIP approach for voice-enabled logistics solutions, breaking from traditional client-side topologies based upon proprietary voice technologies. CCE collaborated with SAP, Cisco and Datria to create a third generation solution based on inexpensive wireless IP telephones and network-centric speech technologies. With this innovative solution, CCE is achieving almost 100% accuracy in order fulfilment while improving productivity through the elimination of redundant processes.

A key breakthrough to CCE was implementing a solution that established voice as an enterprise-wise resource, consistent with its investments in SAP enterprise SOA and Cisco SONA. CCE is now able to use voice technology as an enterprise solution resource for all forms of mobile workers, whether inside or outside the four walls of the enterprise.

Opening Keynote Presentation: A New Business Model for the Challenging New Times Ahead

The Global Financial Crisis (GFC) demonstrated that contemporary financial models are broken. So too are the business models on which our supply chains are based, although for different reasons. The new ‘connected’ world has caught up with us and we must find new ways to respond to customers, faster and more cost-effectively.

The ‘dynamic alignment’ model has been under development and field testing conducted for the last two decades and is now at the point where some of the best companies in the world are applying its principles to the design and operation of their supply chains.

This presentation will describe the new model, how it works and the expected outcomes. It involves taking a cross-functional view of the world and merging such disciplines as customer buying behaviours, operational strategies, internal cultural capability and leadership styles, all under the one corporate roof. And the model applies equally well to SMEs and multi-billion dollar corporations. Watch this space.

Keynote Presentation: Rethinking Services Procurement in Mining: Lessons for Other Spend Categories and Industries

Rio Tinto globally spends more than five billion US dollars annually on services ranging from consultants to mechanics and electricians. A significant proportion of this is consumed on sites where the company strives to improve the safety performance of non-employee labour. In 2009 Rio Tinto started evaluating a new way of managing this significant segment of its spend from the ground up.

The project demanded extensive collaboration between three major functions: Procurement, HR and HSE to achieve a level of process integration and performance not previously seen in the mining industry. The solution depends on recent innovations in ‘cloud computing’, tight integration with the SAP platform and a growing focus on managed service provision. The value for the business has been substantial, delivering benefits in the following areas:

• Simplified user experience and improved process compliance

• Improved safety performance

• Reduced costs to both Rio Tinto and it’s suppliers

• Improved management of spend and contract compliance

Through a new approach to engaging end-users Rio Tinto can achieve influence over both purchasing behaviour and safety performance. This is another example where a step change in business performance can be achieved through integrating procurement more closely with other functions, in this case, human capital management. This presentation will walk through the specific solution and learnings but also flag general take-aways for buying channels for spend categories.

Getting Past “We’re Different” and Standardising BI Reports Across Your Enterprise

Pfizer realised that different sites and operating units were using different local BW reports to essentially manage the same things. There were multiple reports with the same title, but form and metrics differed and were not documented. New users had no easy way to find a report and then determine where the data was coming from. The Pfizer BI project:

• Users from a dozen manufacturing plants were brought together to define and agree on what they needed

• Enlist those same users to work together in small teams to define the detailed functional reporting requirements

• Work with the BI technical team to develop, test and roll out the harmonised reports across the enterprise

• The result: a user community with strong buy-in to the solution, utilising reports defined and championed by the global user community

Taking Control of Master Data - Achieving Master Data Integrity by Centralising Control, Addressing Change Management Issues and Training Staff

The integrity of master data at Orica Chemicals was less than desirable with most of the company’s users having access to create and change data directly into SAP. Whilst people could quickly create and change materials, their limited knowledge of master data and the impact of their actions, resulted in a lack of data integrity. The result was a general lack of trust in the master data and reporting, not to mention broader business impacts. As a chemicals company the importance of having accurate master data was integral to maintaining safety requirements.

The company then embarked on a step-process to take control of the master data, including centralising the process by using Master Data Co-ordinators in each business unit.

Find out how we identified the correct people to take on the role, the SAP access changes required, the cultural and process changes, the training delivered and the results achieved.

• Undesirable data that lacked integrity - what it meant t o the business

Making Warehouses and Logistics More Efficient Through Voice Picking

Voice-directed picking solutions have come a long way over the past ten years. Thanks to continual improvements in its capabilities, such as being able to better “hear” workers voices and screen out background noises, coupled with a quick payback and as much as a 50% reduction in errors, the use of voice technology has become common in today’s distribution warehouses.

Companies switching to voice picking are reporting increased productivity and accuracy, as well as finding a solution that is ergonomically better for its employees. Depending on the solution that is replaced by voice picking, the ROI is usually less than a year. Some users have even realised a ROI within a few months.

One of the principal benefits of the TopxVox voice picking system offered by Gamma Solutions is its ability to connect directly to SAP without middleware.

• Direct connection to SAP over Web SAP Console • Application logic lies in SAP• Development only on server side (SAP/ABAP)• 100% online connection • Dialogue changes may be done by the customer• Quick initial training with SAP voice properties

How Coca-Cola Enterprises Manages Direct Store Deliveries Using Strategic Route Optimisation and Vehicle Space Optimisation Solutions

Due to enormous growth (from 13,000 vehicles in 1986 to 54,000 today) we needed to better optimise product delivery. The distribution of products from the distribution centres (depots) to retail outlets is called the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) model. Important motivations are that the beverage industry has become very competitive and that CCE wants to provide world-class customer service, optimise its labour and assets, reduce natural resource consumption and provide its employees with a productive but realistic working day. These goals have been achieved by the implementation of LEO SRO (Strategic Route Optimisation) and VSO (Vehicle Space Optimisation) solutions which are fully integrated into SAP R3. Learn how CCE leveraged this solution to significantly reduce annual delivery costs.

• What is LEO? The SAP integrated LEO process and benefits

• Review of project deployment efforts and system customisation

• Understand how SAP leveraged CCE’s load building knowledge to help design the VSO component of LEO

• Discussion on the 1st generation ‘integrated’ and the 2nd generation ‘SAP embedded’ solutions

Closing Keynote Presentation: Selling the Proposition of Procurement Beyond Just Reducing Costs - Into Delivering Higher Value and Generating Revenue

In 2007 Royal Mail Procurement embarked on a transformation to be one of the Top 3 procurement departments in Europe in three years. With the basics of delivering savings progressing well, they set out to stretch themselves even further and fundamentally refocus the way they operated. The next step was to get into the higher echelons of value delivery: demand challenge and transformation/revenue generation. Overall creating a ‘pipeline’ of initiatives for the future.

A key requirement for the successful implementation of the above is an enhanced level of stakeholder management as the more advanced initiatives require increased collaboration with the internal customers to deliver these more transformational programmes, but with the incentive of a step change in terms of Return On Investment. Finally, through the effectiveness of the above two aspects of the team, Royal Mail’s aspiration is to ‘sell’ their procurement services to other organisations initially within the UK public sector.

This presentation will cover how they:

• Brought together the Procurement team with their stakeholders from across the business, as well as external subject matter experts; in a three day planning event to explore all commercial opportunities available and to gain their buy in and support to pursue

• Harnessed the power of their SAP reporting system to capture all the initiatives both current and future to provide a comprehensive forward looking view of their initiative pipeline reported by all dimensions e.g. business unit, stakeholder, category

• Constantly refresh and ‘top up’ the pipeline with the ideas for the future, allowing a dynamic evolving pipeline to report an up to the minute view of what the supply chain team was delivering

• Use all of the above to gain C-level sponsorship of key value themes’ e.g. outsourcing, policy changes, partnerships; facilitated via the Quarterly Strategic Procurement Council (QSPC)

Sustainable Supply - Includes Local Communities

While the global economy continues to develop, business understanding of the value of actively managing local supply chains is still not fully leveraged. There is significant opportunity for real benefit from improved engagement of local suppliers.

Rio Tinto operates in various geographies globally ranging from developing economies such as Madagascar and Guinea to major cities such as Salt Lake City in the United States. In all cases managing its spend while being cognisant of the local community impacts is critical. However active engagement of Rio Tinto’s local suppliers also offers real value and the potential to mitigate the growing challenges of cost and agility.

Rio Tinto’s focus in this area has now developed into a structured approach which is leading to improved engagement of our local suppliers. This presentation will offer you the following:

• An understanding of some of the techniques being applied in the organisation

• An illustration of how they might be applicable in other industry and geographical contexts

• Develop your understanding of the benefits that can flow from improved engagement of local suppliers

• How Rio Tinto rationalises the contribution of both strategic global suppliers and those of local suppliers

Eliminate Duplicate SAP Master Records - Addressing a Big Problem, One Simple Solution at a Time

A consistent, decentralised approach for business users to create quality master data records in SAP is a challenge for all organisations. Quality data needed by each business function: from the Sales Manager to update pricing information for a customer, to the Materials Manager who needs to check for duplicate stock items and a standardised method to create and change records. So, how can you address these challenges without a large expensive solution?

MasterDataOnline, a certified SAP solution, focuses on how users create and change SAP master records with workflows, approvals and configurable naming standards in a business user friendly interface to ensure master data records are captured accurately and consistently. The key challenges facing many organisations are: that business users are infrequent users of SAP; there is little or no standardisation of rules or controls for how master records are created in SAP, redundant or duplicate records; the use of different or custom standards for classifications.

• How a company adopted a collaborative approach with hundreds of users to create SAP materials

• How an automotive customer manages 50,000 material records and duplication of spare parts

• How a consumer product company manages customer master pricing changes across multiple sites

Workshop 2: Analysing Supplier Enablement Solutions in Conjunction with Your SAP Solution and How to Determine ROI for Such an Implementation

Workshop 1: Re-Aligning Your Business with the Marketplace to Survive the Recession and Beyond

Supplier enablement solutions and systems are plentiful today and often bundled with e-commerce, Business-to-Business (B2B) and even enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. Understanding the complexities of each solution is no small task itself and only becomes more complicated when you consider your existing (or future) SAP solution and the implications that supplier enablement presents.

If your organisation has not yet automated the supplier enablement processes you are most likely not experiencing the competitive advantages and cost savings that your competitors are enjoying through this process automation.

This workshop is intended to give you a detailed understanding of the supplier enablement solutions that exist today and how they integrate with your existing SAP applications. However, understanding the capabilities is only one aspect of choosing a solution to implement. The workshop will also address how to identify key stakeholders and what their procurement and supplier enablement pain points are and how to use this information to your advantage in getting your organisation to commit to such a project.

Return on Investment (ROI) is always a significant factor in any implementation. Real world examples of computing ROI will be used to facilitate activities to determine the appropriate ROI your organisation might obtain for a supplier enablement project. Upon returning to your organisation you should have a significant amount of the justification necessary for your supplier enablement project.

• Introductions, agenda and expected outcomes

• Supplier enablement including EDI and third Party B2B Solutions

• Supplier enablement pain points and opportunities Delegates to identify why supplier enablement would be beneficial to their organisations - what do you expect from a supplier enablement project?

• Supplier enablement including SAP Supplier Self Service (SUS) and SAP Supplier Network Collaboration (SNC)

• Stakeholder identification and the impact of supplier enablement to them Delegates to identify key stakeholders for a supplier enablement project and how supplier enablement impacts the stakeholder

• Your supplier implementation project and lessons learned from past projects

• ROI possibilities and opportunities Delegates to identify areas where ROI can be obtained. What is the low hanging fruit?

• Wrap up and next steps

Dan Harmon - Applications and Shared Services Manager, eBay Inc. (USA)

Our relatively comfortable life over the last decade or two has ended abruptly with the GFC and it’s after-effects. Companies now have to start really understanding how their supply chains work and how they connect to customers, suppliers and consumers.

Indeed, there is no such thing as a single supply chain that does everything. What we have learned in the field is that most companies have three or four major supply chains (or pathways) to their customers.

This poses new challenges for IT in particular, because they have to figure out how to configure their transactional systems and associated applications which sit on top. It’s a multiple alignment challenge. For the procurement executive, it means embracing a new approach to segmenting and managing suppliers, and monitoring their performance. And for operational personnel it means supporting different pathways through the company’s infrastructure to better align with customers and achieve maximum customer satisfaction.

So, out with the old and embrace the new realities! Everyone attending this workshop will take away new and practical insights that they will be able to apply in their workplace, immediately.

• Introducing a new business model for new times: dynamic alignment

• Benefits: Growth in revenue and reduction in costs = higher margins

• Level 1: Re-segmenting your customer base along behavioural linesDelegates complete a hands-on exercise involving a sample of their own customers

• Level 2: Based on the behavioural segments identified earlier, develop appropriate value propositions and corresponding strategy packages Delegates will be coached to develop a few sample value propositions

• Level 3: Understanding the power of internal cultural capacity to help or hinder implementation of intended strategy Delegates will complete a ‘Quick’ culture map of their own organisation

• Level 4: Assessing the leadership style of the top management team (TMT)Each delegate will undertake a self-assessment of their individual leadership style

• Pulling the overall diagnostic together; next steps and closing comments

Play Your Part in the SAP Supply Chain CommunityYes, it’s great to learn from others but we know that there is more gratification in giving than in receiving. Open your mind to new opportunities, and be challenged to consider new ideas and theories. Open your heart to new friends and colleagues, and be inspired and encouraged. This conference is thoughtfully designed to be a place to capture perspectives, engage in brave and important conversations, and pinpoint new and different ways to improve both professionally and personally.
