Ouch! My tooth hurts.

We like football!

They like football, we like arts and crafts!

You like arts and crafts!

This is our computer, our charger and our

mobile phone.

This is our football and our skipping rope.

That's their computer, their charger and their

mobile phone. That's your football and your

skipping rope and this is my umbrella!

We use the possessive adjectives our, your and their when we talk about a group of people’s things. For example, our charger, your football and their computer! Look:

Look! The hotel is near here but the shopping

centre is far from here.

Be careful! We don’t say it’s near to the chemist’s

or it’s near of the café! We say it’s near the chemist’s

and it’s near the café.

Yummy! There’s a biscuit, some orange juice and there are two bananas!

Yesterday there was a biscuit, some orange juice

and there were two bananas. Today there’s some pizza,

some pasta and some ketchup!

In the past, we express the verb to be using was and were.SINGULAR

Page 52 & 53: going to futureUNIT 6UNIT 6

We use a few and a little in affirmative sentences when there isn’t much of something. We use many and much in interrogative sentences to ask about the quantity of

something, and in negative sentences to say that there is very little of something. Be careful! Few and many go with

countable nouns and little and much go with uncountable nouns!

There are a lot of peas.

There are a few green beans.

Oh! There isn’t much chicken

and there aren’t many potatoes.

There’s a little cake.

Today I’m going to study at ten o’clock. Then at

twelve I’m going to play basketball. In the afternoon, my friends and I are

going to have lunch at two o’clock and at five o’clock I’m going to listen to music.

We use the future with be going to to talk about intentions.
