Personal Summary
Having attained my Masters degree in Architecture (M.Arch.Prof) in
2011, I seek to secure a role that inspires passion and commitment
to my craft. My training and experience has led me to be profi cient
in a series of computer software and drafting tools such as Auto-
cad and Revit Architecrure. These however, have not crippled my
ability to draft by hand. My verbal and drafting skills are excellent
tools of communication and are always useful when working in a
team. My attention to detail and problem solving abilities help en-
sure that every project I work on is done with accuracy and the
highest possible standard.
I pride myself with a willingness to learn. This coupled with my easy
going nature ensure that I’m always ready to take on new chal-
lenges head on.

Ecologic Cyborg was the title for my thesis project. Jo-hannesburg as a developing city is still lagging far behind when it comes to recycling. The aim of this project was to create a recycling centre within the city centre as a way of raising awareness about recycling and waste man-agement. The building would recycle most forms of waste and in some instances; it would reuse the waste within the building as a form of resource.

A large amount of waste is generated within the Johannesburg CBD. This became the start-ing point of where to locate the centre and to continue with the theme of recycling, a derelict building was chosen as a site.

The buildings programme is made up of fi ve main components which are distributed vertically through the building. 1. The main recycling process which in-cludes the dispatch and drop-off area along with the recycling towers. 2. The educational and the exhibi-tion spaces located on the ground and fi rst fl oor. 3. Storage for the processed goods is spread over four fl oors with each fl oor storing a different material; glass, plastic, paper, cans. 4. Rentable offi ce space to be rented to various environmental activists. 5. Green spaces that are distributed throughout the building in the form of roof gardens, green balconies and green courtyard spaces.

Mackintosh Park is a quiet park located in the quiet area of Mayfair in Johannesburg. The park is currently used a short cut method of getting from Queens Road to the high street. The brief for the project called to design a recreational area consisting of a restaurant and bar area, a book shop and gallery space. The main concept was to create a corridor that would funnel people from the high street into the park making the park area more active.

Constitutional democracy is in the heart of South African politics. Democracy is defi nes by the ongoing and regular interaction between citizens and their elected represen-tatives. The aim for the Johannesburg Legislature project was to create a space where interaction between the state and the individual members of the country could be enhanced.The main concept was to create a middle ground space where the Government and citizens of the country could come together. A zone of mediation; represented by a public space where interaction between the two parties is encouraged.

The brief for House Coci was to convert the existing of-fi ce and show room for Ixia Bathroom wear in Houghton, Johannesburg into a new residential house that could be rented out or sold at a later stage.
The house originally consisted of two fl oors. The ground fl oor would now be where all the living activities would happen and the 1st fl oor would house all the sleeping areas. A servant’s quarter along with a space that can be used as offi ce space or rented out as a bachelor fl at would be located in the out houses.

Main Street Life is a new 8 storey development in down town Johannesburg and forms part of the new Maboneng pre-cinct. The brief for the project was to restore and renovate the building as well as to assign a new programme consisting of new rentable residential units, new retail and offi ce units.
The residential fl oor consists of 39 units and a communal area. 36 of the units would be bachelor apartments and 3 would be 2 bedrooms fl ats.

The units are fi tted with basic Furniture in a minimal style. The kitchen and bathroom units would be made off site as one compo-nent then fi tted into each apartment.

The brief for Ashante Housing complex was to design 30 new housing units on a 35 x 64m site in the Chiawelo township in Soweto. the units would be 5 x 5.5m in size, each containing a bathroom, kitchenette and living area. The building would be constructed with concrete framework and red brick in fi ll, a method commonly sued in Soweto. This would be juxtaposed with a white plaster fi nish to give the building a clean modern look.
