How are grade averages calculated?

Semester Average is equally comprised of…

1st six weeks grade

Class Rank

Anderson is a non-ranking HS

Campus Advisory Committee voted Spring 2014

95% of parent votes in spring 2014 were for becoming a non-

ranking HS

By state law, Anderson HS has to report top 10% ranked students

to TX Public Universities

Top 10% students will have rank sent to these universities

Top 10% students receive a letter with their rank

No other students will have a rank

Sophomore Year – By November

Junior Year – Within two months after the completion each

Implications of Being a Non-Ranking HS

Many state universities will use applicant’s GPA and assign each student an assumed rank

This will result in an assigned quartile

Most state universities have assured admit program for each quartile based on SAT/ACT score
