In marriage, the husband and wife follow

the love of Christ and the Church. Jesus ispresent with the husband and wife as He

gives them the strength to fulfill the

promises they made to be faithful to each

other. (CFC 1502)

Jesus blesses the union of a baptized

man and a baptized woman throughthe Sacrament of Matrimony.

In this sacrament, He offers themspecial grace and strength to help

them grow in love and share this love

with their children. In a holy andlifelong union, the engaged couple

is united by Jesus.
