Strawberry Time

Annie and her parents invited her friend Lito to their hometown one summer.

“Can you see the rows of strawberry plants, Lito?” asked Annie.

“Wow! They are lovely!” exclaims Lito. “Can we pick their fruits?” he asked.

“Why not? Go ahead, pick some. I’ll get a basket for you,” replied Annie.

Lito picked a basketful of strawberries. He thanked Annie’s parents for not letting him pay for the berries.

Annie brought Lito to the town proper. He saw bottles of wine, jars of jam, cans of marmalade, bags of candies and many more – all from strawberries!

Then, Lito caught sight of the biggest strawberry cake in the world! He tasted a slice given him.

“I will never forget the Strawberry Festival in La Trinidad, Benguet!” exclaimed Lito as he thanked Annie.
