Grade 3 Week of May 11th-May 15th
PCSD students and families- Welcome back for another week of online learning and student-teacher connections! Be sure to look to each box below for the weekly topic and assignments, as well as Google Classroom links. Please talk with your children about how their learning is going and encourage them to access the Google Classrooms and attend meetings with their teachers. These are not just opportunities for learning, but opportunities for your child to stay connected to their school community. Be sure to reach out to teachers for questions. As always, we are in this together!

ELA Topic: What’s in Our Universe: Lessons 9 and 10 Topic Summary: Lesson 9: “Space Exploration”
● I can respond to text read aloud about space exploration. ● I can write about the future of space exploration.
Lesson 10: “Exploring Space” ● I can read informational text about space exploration and answer comprehension
questions by finding evidence in the text. ● I can respond to text about space exploration in a variety of ways and for different
purposes. Tasks for the week:
● Lesson 9 go through this slide presentation and watch lesson 9’s read aloud ● Lesson 10 go through this slide presentation and read chapter 8, “Exploring Space” ● Continue working in your grammar packet! Aim for a page a day.
Assignments to turn in by the end of the week:
● Check your teacher’s Google Classroom for digital versions of work pages: ○ 9.1 True/False and Post Read Aloud Questions ○ Write an opinion piece about what you think the future of space travel will
be. Be sure to: ■ Write at least one paragraph ■ Explain your key ideas and details ■ Write complete sentences with correct grammar, spelling, and
punctuation. ○ 10.2 ○ Choose one prompt from the Reading/Writing Choice Board at the end of the
lesson 9 and 10’s slide shows and share with your teacher
Mathematics Topic: Geometry & Measurement Word Problems Topic Summary: (Lesson 11 is skipped) Lesson 12: I can measure side lengths in whole number units to determine the perimeter of polygons. Lesson 13: I can explore perimeter as an attribute of plane figures and solve problems. Tasks for the week:
