Grade 10 Math – Guide to Calculators

When buying a calculator for grade 10 Math, consider the following:

Programmable calculators are not allowed (provincial rule)

Calculators with QWERTY keyboards are not allowed (provincial rule)

Calculators with equation solving software are not allowed (provincial rule)

Graphing calculators are not allowed

You will need a fraction button

I encourage all students who are buying a new calculator to keep the receipt and the

packaging. Bring the new calculator to school and show it to me. I will then let you know

whether or not it is allowed.

Smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other electronic devices are not allowed in class.
