Turtle was walking in the woods. Rabbit hopped on Turtle’s back. “Where are you going, Turtle?” he asked.

“I am going to eat dinner,” Turtle said.

“Come play with me first,” Rabbit said. “We can play by the river.”

Turtle thought about it. Rabbit was so bouncy! He made Turtle tired. But the river did sound fun. “Okay,” said Turtle. “I’ll go with you.”

Rabbit sped off. Turtle walked slowly. By the time he got there, Rabbit was ready to go. “You’re too slow for me, Turtle!” Rabbit said as he hopped away.

Turtle was sad. Then he heard a small voice. “I brought you some dinner,” Rabbit said.

Turtle smiled. “Let’s eat!” he said. Turtle was happy that Rabbit was his friend.
