MEET THE VETS AT GRACEDR . ERICA FRY DR . LAURA LAXTONMEDICAL DIRECTOR CHIEF HAPPINESS OFFICER
Dr. Erica Fry is a 2005 graduate of the University
of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine.
Before deciding to relocate to southwest Florida
to be near family, Dr. Erica worked in two
different small animal clinics in Alabama and
Missouri and with a mobile pet hospice and
euthanasia practice in Texas. Her professional
passions include feline medicine and
preventative care, end-of-life care, and the
management of chronic conditions in senior and
geriatric pets. She also has an interest in
dentistry and believes that low stress handling
techniques lead to a better experience for pets
and their people. Dr. Erica’s goal is to educate
clients so that they are comfortable with and
confident about their pet’s health and
wellbeing.
Dr. Erica shares her home with her two beautiful,
spunky children and two mischievous Siamese
cats (littermates Olive and Molly). When not
herding cats or kids, she loves to watch college
football, explore new restaurants, and be outside.
She is also a self proclaimed bookworm and is
perfectly content curled up with her cats and a
great novel.
Dr. Laura Laxton earned her doctorate from the
University of Georgia College of Veterinary
Medicine in 2015. She has a passion for
supporting the human-animal bond by helping
dogs, cats, and their humans too! As a small
animal veterinarian, she has a focused interest in
puppy pediatrics, animal behavior, nutrition, and
virology (the study of viruses). She cares about
your pet’s emotional well-being and uses Fear
Free techniques to reduce pet stress and anxiety
during examinations. Dr. Laura is also a certified
Pet Nutrition Coach and creates tailored
treatment plans for overweight and obese pets.
Dr. Laura enjoys bringing people together and
spreading kindness by hosting health and
wellness events for the community, including
Grace's Puppy Yoga, Swing Dancing,
and Barbecue Nights.
Her family includes her husband Matthew, her
caique parrot Mr. Peaches, and her 5 dogs: Lindy
(little scruffy pup), Wilfred (big scruffy pup), Cara
(fluffy pup), Cass (Frenchie), and Chuck (Mini
Schnauzer). She loves photography and nature.
